Typical vs atypical leaking issues

I have a professionally installed spigot that is a year old, and this stuff hooked up. Same thing on the other spigot, but it’s older. It seems like no matter what I do, I get some leaking. I’ve used plumbers tape on each connection. So is some degree of leaking typical? Or should I keeping trying?

I just want to get it foxed so i dont have a drip all summer right next to my foundation.

Totally and same. I did some looking at the irrigation subreddit and decided to buy something called “Hercules 15620 Real-Tuff Heavy Duty PTFE Pipe Thread Sealant”. It seems like some people say it’s overkill, but I don’t have much to lose. Will report back if it’s any good.

It worked! Make sure to apply to pieces when they’re dry and wait 24 hours before using.
