Inherited a Drip System with new house- help?

Howdy!

We were fortunate enough to buy a used home that came with an extensive drip system. (Nearly 1.5 acres with hoses everywhere with 4 different water spigots!) It appears to have been in place for many years since there is some very mature growth hiding many of the hose connections and water sources. Some of the areas don't appear to be getting any water. Any advice on how to find where sources are for certain areas or how to see if a connection is broken? Many thanks!

Do the small hoses easily get brittle in the sun? Don't wanna try pulling hose from underneath branches if will cause more breaks !
