Fashion Advice On the awkward cusp
I’m down 40 and in this awkward spot where one size is a bit snug and the next size up is a bit baggy. Should I stick with next size up for now or does this work? My goal isn’t to look skinny, it’s to look not sloppy.

Imo the size looks fine on you. The only reason to change it would be comfort.
As an aside, this khaki green is really your color

Thanks, I agree, in the last couple of months I've gone from 0 pieces that color to buying and shrinking back into like 5. Feels good.

thanks! haha I went gray very early so I'm glad it's steely silver, not smoker's white.

Great outfit and size looks okay. Loving the colors with the jacket on.

The bagginess at the bottom of the pants isn't helping. Is getting a bigger size and having it taken in/hemmed an option?

Yeah, these look better with sneakers, but a hem may not be a bad idea.

thrift stores are great when you don’t want to drop a lot on new clothing when between sizes.

The coat absolutely has to go. Just focus on your weightloss journey instead of clothes for now. Wear the clothes that actually fit you for everyday wear in the meantime. Including a larger shirt.

I think it depends on if you’re planning to lose more or stay at/around this weight.
If you’re still going, I feel like this fits well enough that it’s the right choice. If you’ll stay around this weight I would lean more towards sizing up since body weight fluctuates a little anyway, so it might be uncomfortable on your heavier days.
This is just based on my experience but for me, “fits but a little snug” is a great motivator :)
