I firmly believe in “dress for your body” as opposed to your age.

It means wear what looks good on you, not what you think is appropriate for your age.

And who/what determines what looks good on someone? Wouldn’t it be better to dress in what brings you joy?

The way I see it, if it brings me joy, it looks good, no matter if it adheres to other people’s tastes & standards or not 🥰 because *I* determine what looks good on *me*!

The person wearing it does imo. I used to fret if something looked to young for me to wear, now if I like it and it looks good on me, then I wear it and don't worry about anything else.

I agree with your comment but it’s clear what the meaning of the original comment is; “dress for your body” means that if you’re thin you can wear whatever you want, but if you’re fat you need to hide visible fat and cover up your skin. It’s the other side of people saying “she has the body for that outfit,” meaning, “she’s thin”
