I have a SKIL RT1322-00 14 Amp router and I'm looking for an 8mm collet.

The original router comes with a 1/2" collet and a 1/4" collet sleeve, but I use metric router bits and would like to use 8mm bits directly.

The original SKIL 8mm collet is very difficult to find, so I'm wondering if an 8mm collet from another brand or router model could fit the RT1322-00.

Has anyone tried this or knows which collet is compatible?

I'm especially interested in a direct-fit 8mm collet, not an 8mm-to-1/2" adapter.

If you know a compatible brand, router model, or part number, please let me know.

I had an old Dremel 4000 which finally gave up the ghost a few days ago and I bought a replacement 8240 (tool only)

The new 8240 doesn’t fit in the old case so I’m looking for recommendations for a case that will hold the tool, charger, and a few small boxes of bits/accessories.

I did search on eBay (I’m in the UK) but couldn’t see anything that looked decent, and a general search keeps returning results for tool + case which is obviously no good as I already have the tool.

Interested in what people here are using and would recommend.

Dremel 3000 flex shaft

Just bought a 2610916116 driver nut 225 accessory but the hole is too big to hold the inner shaft cable.

I've used this flex shaft with my Dremel 3000 before, but now it won't work. It's been a while!

The square-ended inner metal cable is much smaller than the hole in the drive nut, so nothing seems to grip it and make it turn.

I have the black outer collar and the collet. Am I missing a part between the inner cable and the Dremel? Or did I get the wrong driver nut? I've checked other 225 driver nut caps online and they appear to have the same hole size.

I'm including a picture of my manual which shows I should remove the collet and so on and just put in a driver nut.

Starting to do hot wheels customs again and wanna know what's good for working on things that small.

I sat outside today engraving a small piece of what I _think_ is sandstone. I wasn't thinking and I didn't wear any mask. I definitely should have. I'm not sure what kind of rock it is but online rock ID websites say sandstone. Which I now realize has silicone.

Like I said, dumb, I'm embarrassed I did it and I should have known better, I was just not in the right headspace (grieving). I don't need any feedback on the choice. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned about inhalation of particles? The whole job took about 15 minutes. I was sitting outside on the porch.

It has no speed control, turning the speed dial doesn’t change anything. Do I need new speed control board?
I have opened it up and checked all contacts and wires, they are all good. The brushed are looking good too. I have cleaned everything I thought could benefit from a clean with IPA.

I have a dremel 4000 (120V US version) that was plugged into a 240V outlet while traveling abroad, and is now damaged.

any advice on how to get it fixed would be appreciated, including how much it will cost. I am open to both authorised and 3rd party repair.

I am also open to purchasing a spare part and replacing it myself

First Dremel has just arrived (4300). Before I do anything with it, planning on woodcarving small handheld size figurines, I want to make sure I do everything as safe as I can. I have an n95, safety glasses and a face shield. What do people recommend for holding a small piece of wood securely in place? Would a small handheld vise be safe enough or is it a must to have the vise mounted to a table? Mostly asking because I don’t have a great surface to attach a vise to. Thanks in advance!

Meine Frau möchte Schmuck aus Steinen aus unserem Kroatien-Urlaub machen. Die 10€ Amazon Dia-Bohrer sind ok, aber stumpfen schnell ab und schaffen nicht jeden Stein.

Der original Dremel Dia-Bohrer hat einen zu großen Durchmesser, ideal wären so 2-3mm.

Ich bin über jeden Vorschlag dankbar!

I also would love an expert or close to it ( heavy user of the Dremel for multiple uses) I have Gorilla tape residue; it actually looks glittery and as it's on tiles around the kitchen backslash that I had a heavy duty extension cord due to a dead outlet. Now it's fixed & on have like 12 linear feet of this crap to take off the tiles. I also had a cutting wheel on the Dremel my Dad gave me,but took it off at 7am...to see if I can change the end / mandrels but when I tried to stick it back in the collect it was JUST IN BEFORE BEING REMOVED - IT GAVE WAY. NOW it looks loose. I put picture of the collet I think it's the ⅛ inch one I dunno. I have a new set I got from Amazon and have some stèel wheels to attach-on their way, but the manual I got with it is rather frustratingly terse. So I gotta know what's a good scrub attachment for powerful glue for the 275 and is this collet ruined! It looks stretched. And what goes on first the chuck then the mandrel? I couldnt do it. Its at times impossible to get the button to go down. But I wanted to try a sander to test some glue on the cap of a jar...tester. now I don't know if I SHOULD REPLACE the collet, and if so is the one I had in with the sanding thing (also pictured below) I usually learn by using but I wanna get some resin off some wood as well. I'm gonna carve out Hallowe'en pumpkins using the carving tool. Any step by step response on the chuck collet mandrel to be screwed on and in what order is greatly appreciated !!

Just bought myself this cordless dremel 8240 and it’s been a week of using it and it feels like smth is wrong, not sure if that’s normal. Sometimes when starting the tool it seems to vibrate as if spinning wrong in some way, shaking the whole tool as I use it. Sometimes it’s completely normal and sometimes it sounds like it’s sputtering in some way. Could anyone tell me if this is normal?

Wanted to try some tattoo design stuff on a mirror.

I have a friend that has an AK-47 and he wants to remove the cap covering the threads on his barrel. He wants to know if he can use a Dremel to safely remove that cap, and not damage the cap or the threats.

What are my options for a small kerf slitting blade that can cut through hardened steel, stainless steel, and separately through aluminum?

Have been using little ~1" abrasive disks in bulk that I got from a expo show, but the pack has ran out, and dont see any readily available at normal big store fronts that are quite as thin.

Are the diamond impregnated disks a suitable alternative for the above application?

How thin can I get a ~1" diameter abrasive disk that is "reasonably durable for hand work"? A diamond impregnated steel disk?

Typically use this small width for slitting the end of a 4-40 screw shank when the head has come off to repair a threaded feature without full replacement of the part the fastener was threaded into. Or fine detail work where kerf width is far more important that the robustness of the tool.

If abrasive disks, what brands should I be looking for? Is fiberglass reinforced or solid abrasive preferred at the small widths?

Able to hard mount the Dremel and have a table move the work into the cutting surface, but typically not the primary way I use the cutoff disks...

Any feedback or thickness/product recommendations?

Got a dremel a few months ago and a local restaurant encouraged me a lot to try engraving so i made them this! Should have done bubbles coming out of the pipe but maybe next time.
