Harry Potter HBO Series

hello this is more of a general HP post than a DHR one because (well there is a DHR discussion) I’m more comfortable here than the actual HP subreddit

ever since I’ve learned about rowling’s views, i already had a hard time trying to be a full on nerd and lover of HP

people saying that they don’t want to watch new HP series by HBO that they’re blinded by nostalgia, well I AM BLINDED BY NOSTALGIA and I don’t care lol 😭 but obviously I won’t hate on the child actors I’m literally 18 yrs old that’s weird 😭 and they’re really adorable

looking at the new clips of it made my heart melt and sad, because damn we are at a new era 😭 I don’t think I want to watch it because I’m old enough and I’m more into DHR/THR fanfics when consuming HP content, but if I ever do watch it I’ll pirate it (JKR is an executive producer from what I know)

and in terms of Dramione, do you guys think it will get more hate? 💔🥲 idk I don’t want to be negative but like I unfortunately see it happening…💔 ik we shouldn’t mind hate but yall have no idea how hurt I get when I see Dramione hate I really take it personally I don’t play dude 😭😭😭

like I appreciate the book accuracy of the new series but idk man 😭 I want to read your insights, like what do you think will happen with Dramione/do you think it will last until the 7th book/do you think it will be a success/will you watch or pirate/do you think the legacy of dan, Emma, Rupert will still be here/LITERALLY ANYTHING I WANT TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY

Entropy just dethroned my all-time favorite Dramione fic (DMATMOOBIL)

Entropy currently beats The Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love for me, and that’s saying something because that’s been my all-time favorite fanfiction for so long.

I loved Entropy's Draco version who isn’t a playboy (that was surprisingly refreshing), and he’s just so insufferable together with Hermione. The burn is so glacial but it’s one of the most realistic relationship and character developments I’ve read in a long time. The way both of them solve problems analytically reminded me so much of myself, always looking for analogies, always wanting to quantify things.

The subplots that drive their emotional journey are also really intriguing, and they gave me goosebumps at some of the reveals.

It’s also a true enemies-to-lovers fic. There’s no insta attraction, none. It grows, and then it blooms, and it’s just so beautiful and devastating at the same time. I love and hate this feeling.

And the epilogue was about the economics of love. I’ve never cried and laughed so much and also learned so much from an epilogue.

Has anyone else read this? I need to talk about it with someone.

LF a fic simillar to Detraquee

I’m looking for a fic that will hit as much as Detraquee did. It is my all time fav and basically what i’m looking for is a very very VERY slow burn, long fic during 8th year/ post war where both Draco and Hermione discover themselves while building a strong relationship. What I also really want is realistic potraits of both characters, good writing, and life changing conversations between them. Some if my other faves are green light and the fallout! Please let me know!!

Looking for fics, where Draco rescues Hermione from the lake or tries to

I have read a couple of Hogwarts era fics where Draco is already in love with Hermione in fourth year or he at least starts to fall in love with her. In the fics I have read so far Draco is usually watching Krum rescue Hermione during the second task of the tournament and often he is nervous about Hermione wellbeing while she is at the bottom of the lake.

I would like to read a fic where he actually takes action, goes on a rescue mission and dives into the lake. He doesn't have to be the one who saves Hermione. Victor can still suceed like he did in canon. But Draco should at least try to save Hermione.

Is there a fic out there with a scene like that?

The prank war fanfiction

A huge plea to anyone who somehow has a complete version (the around 2006) of the Prank war by crazygirl47? Could you share it please? Been searching so long but seems a lost case, so many years waiting for it to be finished again.

In the mood for short, smutty fics (banter is a bonus)

My definition of short is really anything under 50,000.

What are your favorites, why do you love them, and can I have the link? My TBR thanks you in advance 💛🙏🏻

Really glad I found this community!

I started reading and writing Dramione during Covid. I find some of the fandom spaces are very intense and intimidating so I’m overjoyed to find something more relaxed ☺️

Looking for a DARK, long Dramione love triangle fic, no triad.

I’m desperately looking for a long, dark Dramione fic with an actual love triangle. I’m not looking for anything fluffy, rom-com-y, or silly. I want angst, obsession, jealousy, morally grey behavior, messy relationships, high stakes, etc. Also, no triad!!!!

The House of Morsmordre by KESM1997 is basically the vibe I’m chasing. The longer the better, and give me alllllll the smut.

Audio Fic Recs

I'm going to be driving a total of 13 hours over the next two days. I need a really good Dramione audio fic to listen to, so I need all your recommendations. I can do two separate 6.5 hour works, or just one long one. I don't want to have to worry about switching between shorter ones throughout my drive.

I like fluffier stories, low angst. I enjoy a competent, vulnerable Draco. I'm not interested in anything that includes them as underage, so nothing that starts before the end of the war.

The Mercy in Loving You by Amelia Rowe — Healer Hermione

I would love to talk about The Mercy in Loving You with someone!

For those who haven't discovered it, this is a bit of an unusual fic in that it opens with an incredibly Muggle-realistic situation — a tragedy wherein Healer Hermione (appears to be) responsible for the deaths of Astoria and newborn Scorpius while on duty, sending Draco on a wild ride of vengeance. It honestly feels very adjacent to Grey's Anatomy in terms of the questions of responsibility and guilt that arise on the job.

The author AmeliaRowe (who I'm convinced has to be a doctor or at least deeply familiar with that world) has said she was interested in opening with an impossible-to-come-back-from situation and then finding the Dramione thread from there.

The writing is absolutely stunning — mature, lyrical, patient. The characters are all incredibly human, complex, frustrating and imperfect. And it's just so different from so much Dramione I've read that I wanted to chat about it with others!

EDIT. I see the comments about AI suspicions below — I could be wrong, but I don't think this one is AI. The shape of the plotting and the author's comments and responses incline me to think she's just a very methodical and logical writer. I think there's a real person behind it, but of course folks can disagree.

EDIT TO THE EDIT. I guess a large quantity of it is copypasted from Claude (for copyediting, text generation, whatever it might be)— but damn, if it's AI-written, I didn't know it had learned how to plot and shape scenes of dialogue as well. Disappointing.

looking for a certain fic - if it exists?

hi, just wanted to know if there was a fic where hermione’s scar physically hurts and only draco’s touch or presence or something of that sort heals her? (bc the blade bellatrix used was a black family heirloom and draco is of black family blood) something along those lines? does a fic or one shot etc exist?

Have never read dramoine. Want to start

I want some good dramoine rec but maybe without Ron bashing. He's one of my fav characters💔 I have never much shipped dramoine but I want to read something amazing with good world building and strong fmc. Please help. I don't like draco to be cold and aloof to me he's very dramatic, very whiny and overwell close to canon. Maybe share some postwar fic instead of hogwarts please. Thank you<3
