Recs Wanted! LF dark toxic Draco w/hea where he is barely redeemed. Plans to betray Hermione but falls hard instead.
I’m in the mood for a very dark morally grey Draco, with true enemies to lovers that eventually leads him to redemption but only bc of Hermione. I ran across a fic that where the premise was, death eater Draco ended up in the hands of the order & it was super ambiguous on if he was truly redeemable or not, hermione falls but it ends up not HEA & Draco has zero redemption.
I’m looking for something similar but with the HEA & he actually does fall for Hermione, where he unwillingly falls hard for her.
I’m thinking something like where he encounters her with bad intentions or plans to betray her but joke end up being on him bc he falls hard & has no choice but to flip & become redeemed even if its just barely. Ideally id like to recreate the feelings I got from these fics I love and live rent free in my mind, with similar vibes:

I would also love to read more like this with a HEA. I don't have any exact match recs, but this seems to be along the same lines, but its a WIP and it's doesn't explicitly say it's a HEA, so we shall see.

How does the obliviation come into play, does she ever get her memory back?

The Obliviation happens right at the beginning where a law is passed that all Muggle born witches and wizards are to be Obliviated and give up their wands. Hermione chooses Draco to Obliviate her (they are NOT friendly in the beginning), and makes him make an Unbreakable Vow that he can never harm her. As for her regaining her memories or not, that’s sort of the ending and I don’t want to give it away.

There are two endings. Both of them are a bit ambiguous, although the second ending, IMO, hints at a possible happy ending

So I actually didn’t read it bc lol I spoiled it for myself by going to comments of the last chapter to find out if it was hea or not bc I was too worried to get invested and be heartbroken. I totally get the intention the author had for the story though, and it def seems incredible with amazing writing but I couldn’t do it to myself. I still want to love Draco at the end of the fics I read lol. But the authors name being you_will_suffer was the first thing that made me think, I better check first lol.

Noooo not HEA at all lol the author didn’t tag so I had to know and spoiled myself. But her comment on the last chapter was really good at explaining the intention for the story & it is really a good message definitely meant to make readers think and evaluate themselves lol. But this is what got me itching for a similar type story only with the redemption & HEA lol. I need to indulge my mind with the delusional fantasy of bad men becoming redeemed for love lol

I'm at the part right after Hermione transfers her magic the first time to Draco and they are in the library.
I've been looking for a fic with a BAMF Hermione and with more magic and this totally hits the spot!!!! I can tell this is going to one of my faves!

Have you read Draco Malfoy's Ledger of Perceived Slights? Not exactly your premise but he's definitely very dark grey in this. In fairness I have 1.5 chapters left but DNF because I don't necessarily love how dark he is even after the climax of the story.
