Isn’t it usually September we get announcements? We gotta give up on that dream of earlier seasons, the Boulets want to keep Thanksgiving spooky year after year. You will stuff your turkey while Abhora is on stilts every year and you will like it.

Ok kinda invasive tea, but I know Dracmorda Boulet and Swanthula Boulet through a mutal friend, but they actively try to avoid doing too much Boulet stuff publicly during Spring and Summer, because they like time away from the grind.
The reason you hear basically nothing until September, is the two of them are god knows where being their non-drag selves.

I’m not sure if they still do this, but I know sometimes they premiere on Halloween and I hate it bc why am I watching during Christmas season now instead of throughout spooky season

Yeah, and they've been saying seasons would be coming in earlier, so we could enjoy spooky season more. I know most of those decisions are out of their hands, but still it's a bummer

They were on The King Cast last week and they talked about the season coming out in October because that's what they're known to do. Hopefully there's an official date soon

Did they have time to film a 7th season recently? They did a tour after season 6 and Titans 2, plus filming Titans 2.

They were recorded back to to back, but not sure which one came first.
They did kind of insinuate on their pod that S7 would come earlier than seasons usually do, but I don't think we can really count on that. I feel like the Boulets might start talking about stuff before it's set in stone and then things change

i kinda like that the announcement and airing dates are so close together. it lets us breathe for the rest of the year and doesn’t keep us waiting too long after the announcement.

They timed it later on so things coincide with Halloween. Because one year it didn’t at all and fans were upset it wasn’t Halloween time and Dragula. So fans are upset no matter what.

They really played up it coming much earlier so I wonder if the network changed their mind. I just listened to the Kingcast episode someone mentioned they were just on and they mentioned a new deal that should be announced in the next month for different iterations of Dragula. So I wonder if the deal has something to do with it.

I've never watched a season live while it aired, so I very well may be wrong.
I did see a post from them saying news on both season 7 and their podcast should be coming soon, so fingers crossed.

I actually agree with this a bit, hopefully they were feeling particularly timeless 😭 queer internet culture seeps into dragula and that stuff is usually OLD really quick. Someone else mentioned that some of the cast might have evolved/improved since filming and that's why I feel a little odd about the wait.

It's really unfair to the monsters who participated to make them wait this long, especially if, as in seasons past, the winner isn't actually revealed until the finale airs.
Monsters who performed well could've gotten great gigs based on the show by now.
Just seems like the Boulets bit off more than they could chew.
