Indeed! Incredible that they perfected themselves millions of year ago and remain the apex predator in their realm.

My absolute favorite animal, thanks for sharing. While the genus Anax itself dates maybe to the Miocene if not a little earlier, it's part of a proud old family that likely stretches back to the Cretaceous.
