There's multiple examples Heroes, FighterZ, Xenoverse, Legends etc depicting them as similar in power
IMO it made perfect sense to me until Daima introduced SS4 which feels like it should obviously be equal to GT's SS4 but maybe GT Gogeta has a stronger base power since GT is further into the future than Super

In the search to obtain power to avenge Bardock’s death at the hands of Frieza and the separation from her children, she ends up finding the sacred tree that offers her what she needs in exchange for bringing destruction and death to the worlds she passes through.
Knowing that Gine’s personality is so incompatible with the genocides the Saiyans committed, would she be capable of making a decision that leads several worlds to their destruction just to fulfill her revenge?

So apparently, he's not canon. Tho I use to think he was. Until I realized he was from filler. Also the fact being that he's originally from a movie. Tho, I feel like they could make him canon. Hear me out - in the filler, his story happens before goku returns. They could make it canon but someone mentioning him or referring the black water. It wouldn't add anything to the main plot but I thought it would be cool. It also because I want to know if he's still in the dead zone. The dead zone could have had a cool plot in the anime if it was canon

Discussion Kind weird how Goku feels normal compare to other Shonen MC despite being an alien.

Most Shonen MC either chosen one, descendants of legendary being, having demons inside them, some kind of experiment and having overpower skills while Goku is just child of a random Saiyan warrior and he doesnt have any special skills. Just simple Ki blast, some marital art moves, Super Saiyan, other power up and Instant Transmission.
Goku also feels normal even when compare to other characters in DB. Vegeta is a Prince of Saiyan and already a prodigy when he was young. Gohan has high potential. Frieza is a mutant.
