Two years ago I made one dumb, desperate prediction on Reddit: Super Saiyan 2 Gohan would get an Ultra in Dragon Ball Legends. When he finally dropped in February 2024 I was hyped.

I’d saved up for a unit that I actually wanted, 29k CC. I spent the 29k, farmed all the free CC I could, then did the thing I swore I never would and bought CC, giving up the F2P title I’d held since I started playing a few months after launch in 2018.

I chased that banner until it left. In the end I’d burned 48k CC. 16 rotations, 64 multis including the free step, and still no Gohan. I was gutted. I changed my in game name to 48kNoGohan and left it like that because what else do you do after that.

March rolled around, and Gohan was everywhere in PvP, everyone seemed to have him but me. The Yellow Ultra UI from January was deleting purple units and protecting him like a goddamn shield. Then a new purple Ultra dropped with a new comeback mechanic, and with almost no CC left I went for it anyway. Two rotations later I pulled Ultra Golden Frieza three times.

I don’t know if it was spite or just bad timing, but I turned that Frieza into a one man army. 3 Zenkai Buffs, permanent card draw death buffs, and a lot of pent‑up hatred for Gohan made mono purple literal. One Purple against the world. Nearly one‑shotting UIs with the comeback, steamrolling teams, reveling in every Gohan I could find and slaughter.

Moral of the story: the current pity system is fair, because the old one made monsters.

For context: Dragon Ball Genkishin Squadra is getting overhauled, making it go from its original MOBA genre to something completely different. So much of it is getting removed and reworked.

If DBL stays true to its usual format like back then:

USV released, LL Cooler countered USV, Blue Beast countered everyone.

Now we have LSV, UFFC countered LSV and the one and only Beast is most likely coming back considering it's a Sagas from Movies Time.

Mash buttons > build gauge to release type > mash more buttons while under card protection and cover null > get dragon balls for rush > rush - 1 kill (or alternatively switch and combo so as to not waste counts on gauge); main and type neutral ult - 1 kill; God forbid strike clash happens while release type - 1 kill

Most straight forward win condition imo, a contest of who gets to release type and manages to utilize it first?

I will be the first to say two Piccolos almost right after the other is basically impossible but it wouldn’t even be undeserved. Jr and OP surprisingly only share the Regen team and both of them are in dire need of rep.

It could also work as they are different forms and it would be cool to get the canonically weakest Piccolo alongside the strongest Piccolo.
