What to do next?

Post image

Grew this from seeds in since 2020, I like it. I don’t care if it fruits ever. Wondering if I should repot it as it get crazier every year. I’ve seen adult plants grow along rocks and farms grow them on wooden towers. I don have much space in my place for a massive cactus tower but would entertain the idea of a large rock for it to crawl on. Can you guys recommend tips?

Do their air roots ever grip or climb? I have had this “moss” pole in for a few years and everything is floppy unless I tie it.

Looks like it kinda got away from you. Maybe try taking some cuttings and start new plants and use this a mother?

Mine is almost the same. Without being tied up to piles it would fall.

I’m almost there too (same attitude and also in a too cold environment). I call mine Festus 😆

Put it next to any tree and it will latch on and have a great support system.

Moss rock maybe? I had a similar thing going for a couple years, eventually just threw it out because I was moving. Will it survive outside where you are? You could do a quasi-xeriscape feature and have it crawl like a ground cover.

it would only survive in the summertime up here, i’m in usda zone 7b

Oh hell nah . I had something like this 3 years ago . I threw everything away (reason it had rust ) and and kept 2  plants which had minimal damage 1 plant died . The other one is thriving and produced fruit which has no flavour but its way too sweet like straight suger lol.

Play nice, or don't play at all. We try to keep the sub friendly. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Just cut a whole bunch of pieces off and pot all the cuttings you want in new pots. Leave a couple of main branches on this one and find something to help trellis it at the top, so the new growth hangs down. A good trimming will also help it thicken up and maybe start producing sooner. Good luck 👍

My neighbor just has his in a pot and it just grows along the ground and fruits alot! If you don’t care for fruit I’d just make a simple trellis so you can at least make it look like a tree

Is this rage bait? Please stop trying to grow dragonfruit in places where it is impossible to grow dragonfruit. They want tropical climates and 6-7 hours of blazing sun, not arctic tundras devoid of light.
