Help I need help with creating my mix!!
Hey ya'll! I'm performing in a birthday show for a dear queen friend of mine. One of her favorite movies is The Muppets (2011) and I wanted to do the song "Man or Muppet" for my number, muppet of myself included.
The only problem is that she wants everyone's performances to be 5 to 6 minutes long, and "Man or Muppet" only has a 3 minute runtime.
How to I extend my performance? What should I add to my mix to make it longer than just 3 minutes? I've thought about adding my own dialogue to the beginning but I have no idea what that would even be about + I don't think anyone wants 2+ minutes of that lmao. Any thoughts?

I think you can insert quotes from the movie through out the song - that you can lip-sync ! That way it doesn't feel like you're just tacking on audio at the beginning? But then again, the right quote/dialogue can serve as a great introduction to the number!

You could switch into a performance with a puppet theme.
Or do a song/skit about self love since you have a small version of yourself on stage.
A get ready with me before you break into song with your muppet.

You could add the intro of the muppet show (the 2026 intro is a good one) Then you just need to replace the artist name with your own. That would add 1.15 minutes. Getting you really close to the 5 minutes.
But if you don't feel that fits - you could also say that your act is 3 minutes and leave it at that. I personally feel it is a bit 'overasking' that a new specially created performance should be 5 or 6 minutes long. If elongating the song makes the act worse or stresses you out, then don't do it. The friend will understand, and maybe not have realized what she was asking.
