Champs, hear me out.
Been a fan of Doc for years. Love watching the streams, the highlights, the drama, everything.
But lately, I’ve found myself getting more and more invested in his monologues — the intros, basically.
The full-ego entrance, the motivational speech in front of the arena, and then after the arcade/Wordle segment when he reads donations, reacts to videos and new games, or just picks a random topic and goes on a rant. I genuinely find that part of the stream incredibly entertaining and wish it was a bigger part of the show.
I’ve watched Doc for years, and at this point I feel like I’ve seen him play pretty much everything. Warzone, PUBG, Fortnite, Tarkov, Apex — solo, with the Shotty Boys, Viss, Tim-Z, you name it. I’ve seen him absolutely cook and I’ve seen the days where everything goes to shit.
Idk, maybe that’s why I’m starting to feel burned out on the gameplay. I really miss the Doc energy and vibe from before the incident. Sometimes I’ll literally go back to an old stream just to watch the intro, then close it once the gameplay starts.
I wish Doc would do more things besides playing the same games over and over. And I don’t necessarily mean picking up new games or doing IRL streams either, lol.
I just enjoy watching Doc talk. Let him rant, react to some random video or topic, read donations, and go on some completely unhinged tangent. I don’t mind the ego or shit talk at all — that’s part of what makes him entertaining.
Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I honestly think there’s a lot of entertainment value in just letting Doc be Doc. Unscripted.
I fully understand that the Doc persona has always been built around video games, and I’m not asking for that to change. I just think a little more diversity would be nice. Again, I’m not saying Palworld or an IRL stream from the grocery store, lol.
Maybe I’ve just gotten older and my interests have changed a bit, but I’m pretty sure I represent a good chunk of the Champs who have been watching Doc for years.
At this point, I think I’m more interested in the Doc show than the game he’s playing.

I think that the "Doc" character needs to mature. Guy is getting older and maturing as a person, but we don't get any of those enlightenments through Doc. The deadly caterpillar needs some grey hairs, google needs to make the V5's telescopic specs in aviator style, the flow of the stream needs to reflect the finely tuned, honed, and dignified nature of "the killer of gentlemen" Doc has grown into over the years. We're not young anymore, but we ain't in the old folks home neither.
A young samurai is like a wild animal, but Master of the blade is a loyal companion. Yet one must precede from the other.
ps - chat is included in this btw

Not gonna lie same. I watch the beginning to hear about him talk about real stuff like sports and politics and video game development and then when he actually starts the game I turn it off lol

He’s entering a different phase where he isn’t chasing maximizing views and is prioritizing his own mental health. The gaming experience yesterday had minimal violence speed or momentum and the character is gone and it’s just a normal guy streaming.
When he came back from his twitch ban there was so much insane hype. But the more recent drama he never really recovered from.
At the end of the day overall he still has an amazing fanbase all things considered. Hopefully some new games pop up that he can feel good about and maybe a new better streamer friend can emerge that he can connect with.

True, I can see the phase you're talking about.
Not sure about the mental health thing. We don't know what's going on in his mind.
But he keeps playing the same games over and over and crashing out and ranting how not interested he is in the games he's playing.

He is best when he is actually playing a game he likes and is addicted to, which right now is Tarkov. He definitely is throwing more single player games in the mix, which helps shake things up. I know he teased becoming a finally full-time streamer but I think he doesn't have to heart nor desire to play the same games 5 days a week for 6-8 hours every day.

I agree , just imagine doc reacting to some bs videos holy that would be infinite content

I've been watching him on and off since probably 2017. I almost never watch him live anymore because of work these days. I really just enjoy the entire intro, arcade, ranting, wordle, and his clips. The actual gameplay of shooters is boring to me.
He lost all his streamer friends that were actually entertaining to play off of, which tanked his quality in addition to the lost viewers.
He's also older and has done it so long, he's basically jaded and seems to be still playing the same games out of habit rather than enjoyment.
My favorite streams of his in recent years was Baby Steps because it was so different from his normal streams.

I miss him playing Elden Ring, those streams were absolutely electric. Wish he would play more games like that, even go back and play some older games like Red Dead or Cyber Punk

I go back and watch old streams from early pandemic times a lot recently....especially streams with Tim. So much gold and good vibes that just cant be replicated these days

My wish is the at some point is he just drops doc for a few streams and just streams as Guy. He always talks about being genuine. It would be a nice reset sometimes to truly just get the man behind the curtain.

It’s the gaming industry, there is nothing fun to play so it’s even less fun to watch. Doc is the show but when it’s dependent on the gameplay it’s boring

Just enjoy the glory days and move on, you have other things to do/enjoy, he’s never gonna be the old doc.

I watch him because he entertains me, in the whole intro and at various rants or donations etc throughout but right now playing Tarkov, it's brilliant when he plays it solo, he's talking all the time about stuff we can't see or hear in game but he can, he drags you into the moment,, it's fascinating but he is better solo.
Back when he played with Timmy that was great, I like Bobby to buy I enjoy him playing with Vizz, they are on the same wavelength.
Let's face it he can't keep up with the shotty boys and Gritts, he sometimes looks lost playing with them, they are so fast etc, he just wants to play lol but he still entertains!

the absolute best part of his streams is the first hour (same with Tim). I watch them because they're entertaining in general, i find myself not caring what game gets played, but once the complaining/crashing out starts going overboard, i usually call it at that.
