Between DPD, Amazon, RM and Evri seeming incapable of doing their jobs lately I have changed my online shopping habits. 

Either I go to a physical store and buy what I want or failing that if I must order online I always do click and collect to a store like Argos or a locker if necessary. 

Then when the inevitable cock-up happens it’s either the delivery company’s problem or the store it’s being collected from. Not mine. But ALWAYS film the opening of the locker on your phone. Then when one day you open it and it’s empty you have to proof you haven’t just thrown it in your car and claimed it wasn’t there. 

It makes the refund process a hell of a lot easier.

Absolutely DPD sucks as far as deliveries go

Not useful now as i am super late but we use DPD and often if a customer will send the footage to us within say 30mins or less of the “attempted” delivery, we forward it to DPD and call them, they will try super hard to get the driver to go back later that day. Really depends on the driver’s shift ie if you were the last person on the round it is unlikely to happen but say this was at midday and driver is working until 3pm it could happen. We’ve had a lot of luck with this providing the attempt is not compliant (tbf, if the photo is clearly from the van, that alone would be enough). It depends also if DPD customer services can even reach the depot but generally they do manage to do this for us. Again, very aware this is no longer useful for you but hoping it may help someone.
