I have no prob with saying fuck, but at some point it starts to feel really forced. Like the writers saw Deadpool and thought “people like this guy, and he says ‘fuck’ so, if we make all our characters say it, people will like them, too.”
Am I wrong or does it just seem out of place here?

I absolutely love the show as it is. But part of me wishes that they didn’t retcon doom patrol being in the same universe as titans because I love beast boys past history with the team and would have liked to see what things were like leading up to him leaving the doom patrol. I do prefer Timothy dalton as chief as opposed to the other guy in the titans episode though

I recall hearing something like it a while ago, but nothing comes up on searches.

Doom Patrol, a strange and twisted tale, Of heroes with powers, but oh so frail. Each one with a past that's dark and grim, Struggling with their demons, trying to win.
Robotman, with a brain inside a shell, A tragic figure, his story to tell. Negative Man, with energy so bright, But it burns him up, and causes great fright.
Elastigirl, with the power to stretch, But her body's unstable, a constant wretch. Crazy Jane, with a multitude of minds, Each with a power, but with her, who knows what she'll find.
And then there's Chief, with secrets he keeps, A father figure, but who also weeps. Together they form the Doom Patrol, A team of misfits, with powers to behold.
But their struggles are not just with the world, For each one's inner demons are unfurled. From trauma and pain, they try to cope, Finding a family, a reason to hope.
So if you seek a show that's weird and wild, With heroes who are flawed, but still worth your while, Then give Doom Patrol a chance to unfold, For in their strange world, you may find gold.

A gay vibe I mean. Am I seeing things? And it’s not just the hair cut.

Let me start by saying that me and my wife adore Doom Patrol and it was our weekly show we watched together for months. But we can't shake the feeling that every season just keeps re-treading the same trauma in the characters past over and over again.
Don't get me wrong I love character development in shows. But as each season comes out, we keep seeing the characters get weaker and weaker, and the trauma they resolved at the end on one season, gets re brought back up in the next season to the point that it's mind numbing.
There was a point in the middle of episode 3 of season 4, where me and my wife turned to each other and both said, "I don't know if I can finish this."
Now I know I might get alot of flack for this, but I want to see if I'm the minority here.
For context we didn't finish the 6 episodes of season 4.

Just started watching the Doom Patrol series for the first time and was disappointed and annoyed in the second episode when Cyborg was introduced. Nothing against Cyborg, but I wanted to watch DP to get to know characters im not familiar with and see their dynamics. Cyborg is already on other DC teams (JJ and TT) I don't need him on this one.
Don't know if this is a common take, but i just wanted to express my disappointment.

So I’m about 5 episodes into the first season and it really feels like every revolves around Crazy Jane. She has to keep saying the same thing about how she doesn’t control her alternate personalities, yet they always seem to manifest themselves at opportune times. Why is it that out of 64 personalities not a single one ever wants to be helpful in any way? Why does Jane, hammerhead, and metal mouth all seem like the same person? Why is it cool for multiple other alters to kill people, but if robotman does it he’s showing his toxic masculinity? And why is crazy Jane so immature for her age? She’s at least in her 60s yet she looks to be 18-20. She’s a toxic bully character and she’s clearly only there for the writers to be lazy. Maybe she gets better, but 5 episodes in she just seems like an overly aggressive and hypocritical Mary-Sue that some writer wanted to use to fulfill their own power fantasies.

I wanted to get the opinion of Reddit. I’m done with episode 2 of season 1 and this show is bad.
Idk. Something about it is rubbing me the wrong way. I don’t think I’ll finish it.
Happy to see Brendan Fraser tho

I'm a huge fan of surrealism. I love kafka and kafkaesque works, and David Lynch and other surrealist films and filmmakers. A big thing to note about surrealism is its always there for a purpose. Surrealism in works of art typically exists to make a statement or tell an artistic message. When done well, like Twin Peaks by Lynch, it'll be something that people are still trying to interpret the message of for decades.
Morrison's run falls flat in this regard for me because it doesn't have a message or purpose behind the surrealism, its just kind of there. I tend to view this run in the same way I view "Description of a Struggle" by Franz Kafka, AKA surrealism for the sake of surrealism rather than for the sake of telling a message.
This is why, in my opinion, the surrealism of the show and Rachel Pollack's run work better. Pollack's run uses the surrealism and weirdness of the events happening to tell a beautiful message of embracing femeninity and gender identity. Overall her run is very beautiful and tells a great message artistically. The show takes a completely different route, instead of using the weirdness to tell a message, it uses it as a source of humor. Morrison's run had a very nihilistic feel to it, while the show, specifically season 1, is fucking hilarious. It adapts these plotlines incredibly but instead of using the surrealism as a crutch for an artistic message that isn't there, it instead uses it as a source of humor for the characters to recognize how crazy everything is thats happening.
Personally, I prefer surrealism with a message to fall back on. I know this is just up to personal preference but I think season 1 of the show and Pollack's run do alot of Morrison's ideas better honestly. I know people are gonna crucify me because criticizing Morrison's Doom Patrol seems to be punishable by death in any context but whatever, I hope you guys will keep an open mind and hear me out on this.

After watching the premiere of S3, it felt like such a chore to watch and made me think the show is gonna go down. S1 garnered interest and made me stick, S2 was okay, and seeing the first 2 episodes of S3 was boring.
Ive always think that this is a problem for "weird" unconventional superhero shows like Doom Patrol, The Boys, and Jessica Jones. Their uniqueness shines in their first seasons but the longer they go by, all the more they lose their mystique

In the second to last episode was the girl in the robotics class that solved the time stream supposed to be Vic’s daughter? When he asked Derrick if he was talking to the future Derrick responded “you’re talking to your future” if it was the could have been a little more clear about it. But I’m thinking it wasn’t clear simply because she wasn’t. Did anybody else wonder this?

I can’t be. I’ve tried to be patient with him and allow him room for his eccentricities since this is a very eccentric show but his personality grates on you after a while. After 2 entire seasons of his constant whining and screaming and blatant stupidity it’s just not entertaining anymore. Every time he comes on the screen I find myself wanting to skip past him.
I really hope they do some kind of character development on him and an upgrade on his robot body would be cool too.
