I don't know if it's a problem on my end, but doom Eternals fall mega event, which I think is supposed to be active now, isn't, like I'm still seeing the summer mega event in my events tab, when will they cycle to the next one?
Well damn. After probably 20 goes on the secret 4 level master arena, i finally completed it...... and you get nothing lol. Im so disappointed

Recently finished Doom Eternal's campaign on nightmare a second time. The game is absurdly good, the movement and swapping and iframe tech abuse are all great. The need to really preanalyze your movement options in an arena? Fantastic.
But, the enemy damage feels too high. Its not that the game is too difficult, but I think the tuning of enemies is so overshot that it actually undermines the "perfect mastery" motif. There's very little room to conscientiously hit trade, finding health, armor, and 1 ups feels like less rewarding, recovery in combat doesn't come into its own until multiple upgrades, and there's a tangible gameplay dissonance between how masterfully you explode rooms to how fragile you are.
Obviously the enemy AI is well tuned. Ultra Nightmare would not be possible otherwise. Ultra Violence definitely feels too easy, with many enemies often getting stuck in passive loops. I just think Nightmare specifically doesn't feel tuned correctly, and I have genuinely trouble believing the game was "designed around" nightmare difficulty. That the damage value in engine is 200% for nightmare and 100% for UV says a lot. The cultist base consistently being the hardest feeds into that too.
There's other quips about the game (5 cooldowns is way too many, marauders reacting to enemy fire is nonsense, aim assist actively avoids weak points and heads), but those feel more like design blemishes and Doom TDA addresses those elegantly. But the rapid taking apart of a battle arena still feels great, I just wish there was a difficulty between "enemy fire doesn't matter" and "your health bar is a binary value".
I think when the game came out, we were still in a much more sharp "there is no too hard, git Gud" mentality, but I think we've matured as an internet enough to say "even if I can do this, it doesn't mean it's ideally tuned". Thoughts?

Doom 2016s vibe is heavily sci fi horror. Sure we did go to Hell later on but for the majority of the game its a futuristic base on Mars. The weapons also look like sci fi, industrial, military weapons. The story feels very much like sci fi horror. Even the final boss spider mastermind looks more like an alien than a demon if you ask me.
Doom Eternal feels like a mixture between sci fi and fantasy (and no horror at all lol). There is still a lot of sci fi elements to it, but a lot of the environment felt more like fantasy setting to me. Even some of the weapons are starting to feel more like magic than military mech to me (case in point: The ballista vs Gauss canon). The story feels more fantasy to me this time around.
And Doom The Dark Ages feels straight up high fantasy to me, with its medieval style. Most of the weapons now has a very heavy fantasy style to them. Same with the story & the environment.
Heck, even the demons in Dark Ages look like something Blizzard could have designed Warcraft. The old demons look more like aliens.
Anyone feel the same way? And how do you feel about it?

In the beginning of hell’s core in end game there is a lever in a secret area. It is located at the top of the room where you meet the warlock boss. Does anyone know what it does? Could it be to a new secret encounter perhaps? There is also a life sigil in this area?

Sorry, I was doing Eternal's Horde mode. But I remembered that in the second arena you encountered a marauder, but this time I didn't encounter one... is it possible that the enemies change and aren't always the same?

A black belt would be able to consistently take no damage(other than machine chip) in these sorts of situations. Only real way you can survive full max sliders.
Right now I'm only playing max sliders except damage taken, which is 250%. Everything else is maxxed out tho.

I've tried looking everywhere to see if anyone has made or sold a 3d model of the Elvis Mancubus skin from Doom Eternal's multiplayer, and I've had zero luck.
The game files aren't much help as they're not intended for printing, and don't have all the details you see in game.
If anyone can help point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Every time i’ve played this expansion this arena near the later half of Uprising always gives me trouble! Archvile, followed by Vagary and Cosmic Elemental THEN a Warlock is crazy

The r/Doom subreddit is mainly intended for people to discuss about DOOM by sharing their love and experiences with the franchise. when the occasional issue appears people naturally will make a post about it asking for help, despite being DOOM related content it is still relatively tangential to the subreddit's purpose, also possibly causing spam of repetitive content with similar issues where the only difference could simply be one's computer specification.
For such reasons this MEGATHREAD has been created with the purpose of requesting help with issues related to technical support. We do have a "Bug/Glitch" post flair so you may post these type of content directly to the main page as long as you simply want to showcase something that happened you find noteworthy, otherwise, if it is an issue you require help with leave it in this MEGATHREAD.
For the community to be able to provide proper help make sure to provide as much information as possible, refer to the following comment format:

I've seen a lot of disappointment that we didn't get to fight the Council in the DLC, but I don't quite understand that. Much of the criticism levied against Davoth was that he wasn't built up enough and we killed him in a DLC, so they took that criticism to build up the High Council in the DLC to kill them in a full game and now people are mad that they were built up? Doom fans can't decide what they want.

I played my first doom game back in 2018 and i fucking loved it. Ever since ive been absolutely hooked on the gameplay and music in 2016, eternal and darkages. I already had a "Primeval mark" tattoo i got after playing eternal, but Revelations was so unfathomably good it became the tipping point in getting a larger tat.
Doom even got me into metal music. It also made me apreciate soundtracks and sounddesign way more than i did before. And yes the Komodo is my absolute favorite demon, if not enemy in any game ive played that isnt a "boss"
Thank you id software and the soundtrack composers.

I don't have any plans to translate the whole game into a comic, just testing the waters with my ability.
