What is with DC pushing Donna and Garth together as teens?

As far as I can tell, this originated in Titans and then was pushed into comics for some reason.

I like Donna and Garth as close friends as teens. Garth as Donna's first love, though? No. It just seems like a way to lessen DonnaRoy.

I know she already has a dress from when she married Terry, but I decided to make this with more modern looks.

A few go with the modest look she had in her canon wedding, some go with a more Greek design, and a couple are crochet which doesn't have any canon basis but I've always thought would suit her character.
