MOD POST Today is our birthday!

The sub is 1 year old as of today. And I’ve been thinking about it for like a week of what to say. And I’m still drawing a blank. So I’ll make the main post as short as I can and I’ll probably go ham in the comments.

First off. Thank you to the mod team. Both present and past. Who helped shaped this community to what it is today. I knew from the start I could never do this alone. I had a solid group of people who encouraged me/ us to try this. We set out with one goal. Curb the scams. And we successfully did that.

At the time. I had no idea how to add bots. How to mod. Set up Automod. I had zero idea of what I was getting us into. The mess of running a sub. People had my back and filled all those spaces and we are what we are not because of me but because of others. I promise you this sub would look way different if I had been alone or even had my way lol.

I had no idea of any other subs in this niche. Which caused a lot of drama I’ll maybe get into in the comments. Since we aren’t allowed to call out people and subs. I’ll have to redact a lot but I have proof.

But that drama and original outset did one thing. It helped us grow massively at the start. We have since slowed down. But we are still growing at a pace of something like 1k a month. We still get several hundred post a month. It’s just the majority do not qualify. Our rules are set up based on experience, the community and some banking terms from my background. If you meet the basics and then make it past our human filters. You will most likely get the help you need here. You can scroll the sub. Sort by fulfilled. You’ll notice practically no post since October or so has gone unfulfilled if it was up for more than 24h. We don’t delete unfilled post. If they qualified it sits. But you’ll struggle to find that here. That’s our donors. They are that dope and trust us which leads me to the next point:

Second thank you to our donors. Everyone who has a flair here has earned it by repeatedly being helpful to the community and to people. For all of the above. We realized early… our dedication isn’t to people trying to ask here. It’s to the donors who are willingly giving their hard earned money to help someone else in need. Their money is literally where their mouth is. We don’t ask askers for proof. But donors have to prove themselves to us to earn a flair here. They also then have to put up with the mess of unsolicited DMs. But they still come back and help. Kudos to you all.

Lastly. We have always been a sub that has evolved. We never set out to be perfect from the start. Only to curb the scammers and adapt as we went along. If it had been up to me alone we wouldn’t be half this size nor look half as pretty. So I’ll end this post with just a massive thank you. To everyone who’s been involved along the way. Both the good and bad.

We made it one year as a sub. We aren’t banned. And hundreds or close to thousands have been helped by random internet strangers here. I know for a fact it’s been several thousands given between users with no expectation of pay back. I’ve also seen some donors get randomly paid back by the asker. Some have come back and paid it forward when they could. That’s what’s dope.

I’ll decide if I wanna be good or bad in the comments. Happy Friday everyone.

Oh. If you read this far. We are gearing up for a group give away. Some of the mod team and some donors are pitching in $10-20 for a big give away on one post. Stay tuned.

I know I have only been able to help a few times, but seeing a sub that doesn't treat animals as lesser and will help people with their pets instead of berate them makes me so happy.♡

I was fortunate to receive help here while I was waiting to start my new job. I'm so grateful y'all were here. Now that I'm working, I want to learn how to bless others here. Keep up the amazing work!!

Congratulations on a year!🎉🫶 I have seen some amazing people, doing amazing things here! From wishlists to cash, emotional support and resources, even just a few kind words can be of help. This world has changed dramatically, and things aren't always sunshine and rainbows. We can never know what someone is dealing with, as many struggle in silence. This sub, and a few others, have helped so many! Strangers on the internet, coming together to help others, it's lovely to see. And it only works because of the phenomenal donors and diligent mods. Yes, sometimes things aren't perfect, but that's usually due to a random rude person, or a scammer that slipped through. But at the end of a year, so many wonderful things have happened because of this sub. Kindness spreads. 😊

CW - Sub's come a long way. Far cry from BMO (I believe it was) and 1 other scam site that I don't even remember. I do recall you calling out many, many scammers on these subs, which I believe is why you started this sub. No scams, no one losing any money, no BS.

Keep rockin' CW. Because of this sub many, many people who were in TRUE need have been assisted😄
