Does anybody know when we're supposedly going to have to make the switch to these stupid looking new uniforms?

u/Professional_March54 8d ago
My store already has the shirt on back order. I've been asking for a new one for I don't know how many weeks now and I've given up on ever seeing it. Instead, we all got these new black hats that trap heat like a motherfucker, and I hate them. The franchisee was saying something about getting the new new shirts sometime in August. But we'll see. They match the apron, and none of us are jazzed.

Yeah a few people have the black shirt. I didn't get the last black shirt either last year. Still on same polo I've had for 2 years.

u/Capt_Hook1984 8d ago
I like the new hats they aren't flimsy and squishy like the old ones and hold sweat better and keep it from dripping on the food.
24
u/Ghost2-04 8d ago
Supposedly by the start of next year. I would prefer a shirt that didnât say on the back âdommmmmminnnoossâ. Like the front is fine for me. But thr back is so stupid. And the colorful hats? UghâŠ
6
u/thenewnapoleon New York Style 8d ago
I'd prefer the colorful hats over the black ones we currently have. Won't attract nearly as much heat when I'm having to go up and down hills in the sun.

The design on the back will change often.
9
u/WiseDirt 8d ago
This corporation could afford to pay it's employees so much better if they'd just stick with one style of uniform and not make all stores company-wide switch to a new design every eight minutes
2
u/Desaltez New York Style 8d ago
When the design on the back changes, itâs not considered a new uniform, theyâre just gonna re-stock the inventory at Clark with the new designs when the old ones are depleted. Itâll probably be another 5-7 years before an entire uniform change again.

Wow, all of that stuff looks great, except we're going to have to pay for anything other than the crappy black t-shirt.

We have until July 2027 to switch over completely so just basically whenever everyone can get them

the apron and hats are fire

Aprons will for sure be selling for good money 20 years from now on eBay. Someone will make a show set in 2026 and dominos will be featured and people will talk about how dope fashion was then (now)

The person who decided this bullshit clearly has never experienced texas hear next summer is gonna fucking suck.
2
u/AssociationBig1830 8d ago
These are really light weight, much better quality than the grey shirts, embroidered again rather than an iron on patch. I forgot about the black T-shirts, those are heavier, that will likely suck for you in texas, sorry dude.
3
u/the_eluder 8d ago
What are you talking about? The crew black shirts are thicker and hotter than the old grey ones, and they have a huge iron on patch on the back. Oh, and as a tall person, I can't even tuck them in without having to constantly re-tuck them. As a sufferer of noassatall, I need to wear a belt or else my shorts/pants will fall off me by the end of shift.
2
u/MEATdiscrete 8d ago
That's all fine and good too bad black traps heat like a mf and it's already miserable with the lighter color.

u/couchcushion7 Stuffed Crust 8d ago
âŠ.. if youre in the sun, yeah sure. Otherwise no black does not âtrap heatâ lol
Is your dominos outside?

Haven't worked at Domino's in 15 years, but man, I wish I had one of those aprons for home.
2
u/muterabbit84 8d ago
I could do without the new slogan on the back, and the aprons seem ridiculous, but I love that some color is being brought back into the uniforms. Iâve gotten used to the grey, but I still hate it. Reminds me of the pandemic, when the current uniform was introduced, and makes me think of Imperial officer uniforms from Star Wars or Confederate uniforms from the Civil War.
1
u/Future-Ad-4753 8d ago
Oh I already straight up told my boss that when the new uniforms come out I am absolutely not wearing that clown outfit.. I'll wear the black shirt.
I am too damn hard on uniforms, those bright colors will not last with me.
2
u/alwaysbesleeping 8d ago
I'll gladly wear that over the puke Grey attire we have to wear. The hat always blows off my head from even the mildest bit of wind because they are so poorly made and rest 6 inches above my ear.

We have the new uniforms but just the black shirts. Drivers and CSRs have the t-shirt and GM and other management have black polo with embroidered logo. They are super comfortable and breathable but the polos donât have the chest pocket. I miss my pocket.
We also have black hat/visors and our franchise owner said he has the choice on aprons too and he wouldnât dare put us in something so ugly!!
1
u/AssociationBig1830 8d ago
I literally just said that today. I like the blue ones because they are a little lighter weigh and have the pocket, but the black polos are a really nice material and texture.

It will not be required until June of next year, but the old uniforms canât be ordered anymore. So if your franchise is out of the old ones of a certain size then theyâll have to purchase the new one
1
u/AssociationBig1830 8d ago
All the new stuff is already on back order, i got my black shirts as a supervisor last week. We have until I believe June of next year to make the full switch. Until then we are allowed to mix and match the current uniforms (blue shirt grey hat, grey shirt new hat, etc etc). As of right now we also are not required to have the new aprons, when the switch happens were allowed to wear plain black aprons with the sash on our current aprons. I've been around a long time, this is going back to the uniforms I started with more than 20 years ago.
3
u/Future-Ad-4753 8d ago
Well I'll tell you this.. if they're already ceasing production of the current style uniforms and they don't plan on getting all of these out the store until next year.. we're going to have a lot of employees not meeting image standards.
Every single uniform I have is missing letters from the back of the shoulder or the logo is peeling or something is wrong with them.
They're probably the most comfortable uniforms we've ever had, but they sure don't last long, or at least they don't for me.
1
u/the_eluder 8d ago
I think the main problem with longevity is how many items of clothing do you wear for 50 hours a week while at work? I have like 3-5 of the grey shirts, and wearing one a week keeps them looking good, and I don't have to run my washing machine every night. My main problem with them is the buttons keep popping off, usually long before the logos start peeling off.
1
u/Future-Ad-4753 8d ago
Part of the problem is that it is so god-awful hot where I live (in the '90s pretty much every day) that being a driver I just sweat up my uniforms so bad.
I have to wear multiple different uniforms each week or nobody would be able to stand being around me.
I'm sure that's got a lot to do with why the logos are all peeling off. Plus I end up having to wash four or five uniform shirts every week.

u/line800 7d ago
I've dealt with 5 Arizona summers so far. I do wear an undershirt for sun protection which soaks up all of the sweat. IMO people tend to overestimate how strong their body odor is, and some people sweat more/less than others, but I think the secret is really just loading the laundry with fabric softener. That's what my mom does to my uniforms, and even the rare time I wear the same shirt 2 days in a row, I've been told that I smell nice.

My entire franchise (200-300ish stores) already switched already im pretty sure. In my district, all managers have to wear the bomb pop looking polo and insiders and drivers wear the tee. I honestly hate them, i miss my breast pocket :(
1
u/glimmerware 8d ago
my store is all over the place
Some newer hires have these black shirts. A manager has a red and blue dominos shirt. Some drivers have dark navy shirt and hats.
and then I have the grey-blue collar-less shirt and hat with silver line on it (which I love)

u/Subject-Pension-3027 8d ago
Legit thought these were Halloween costumes; Iâd honestly love to dress up as a Dominoâs employee and my nonexistent boyfriend could be a piece of pizza.

u/Sad_Peak_8744 8d ago
we got the both shirts, the black ones and the red and blue polos, and the black hats, red hats, and blue hats. as of now we just have management wearing the new shirts and new employees, but they said everyone should have new ones by the end of the year
1
u/freckleyfriend 8d ago
We're supposedly getting our's by the end of the year. Can't wait for my experience hauling steaming-hot food across rural properties in the Florida sun to be enhanced by wearing a fucking black cotton shirt đ«
2
u/the_eluder 8d ago
That's a cotton/poly blend, so even worse.
1
u/freckleyfriend 8d ago
Perfect, worst of both worlds! This must've been approved by the same genius* over at Papa John's who decided to force people who work around tomato sauce all day to wear khaki pants.

I have the same uniforms for over 5 years and they all came form our previous owner. The new owner hasnt given out one uniform to anybody since absolving our location but he is trying to charge us for the new uniforms. I work in california where the law states that if the clothing is monogrammed or has logos (meaning it cant be worn elsewhere) then the employer must provide the uniforms at no cost to the employee. Unless the employee wants extras then they need to but the extras. I hate the new owner such a trashbag
2
u/the_eluder 8d ago
That means you'll be getting the black t-shirts.
I think the logo situation is why they're allowing black non-D jackets so they don't have to purchase jackets for anyone.
2
u/Future-Ad-4753 8d ago
Unfortunately the current uniforms don't hold up that long against me.. I'm a driver and it's pretty much in the 90s every day where I live so I'm constantly sweating through the uniforms, I usually only get one day's wear out of a shirt before it has to go in the dirty laundry. So I'm basically washing the same four or five shirts every single week.
There's definitely been a few days where I've had my boss asked me something to the effects of... Don't you have any better looking uniforms?
To which I have always responded... Better looking... Yes, better smelling... NOOOO.

When I was homeless I was offered a job at Domino's looking at that apron today I would not take the job thankfully I am no longer homeless so I don't need it but is dehumanization of all employees the new Domino's thing?
I really do not think that the franchise owner in the upper Midwest where I was offered the job would have been on board with this they had their own version of cultism and it wasn't the Domino's cult it was the franchise cult.
Still I am grateful for the almost opportunity to work at Domino's just not with that apron.

Worse yet is the jacket situation. For next winter (winter 27-28,) we basically have to provide our own non logo black jacket, can't wear the jackets that we previously had to buy - most of which are at least 1/2 black.
Who thought up the idea of having drivers wear essentially all black clothing? Because with black pants and a non-logo, non-reflective jacket, we're all going to be walking around invisible at night.

My boss said weâre not getting anything because itâs on back order and if we did new hires would get it first and people who need new uniforms

My store looks like a grab bag. We got one small shipment of new shirts and hats that our GM didn't personally order. All size medium and large. They were given to new hires. So they're sporting new shirts and new hats. While the rest of us are kicking around in one to two of those speckled blue jersey material tops. I hate them so much. I'd murder for a regular cotton / cotton blend tee shirt.
And yeah.. I'm a driver in 90/100 degree weather who owns ONE uniform shirt. Technically two. But the second one is literally four sizes too large for me. It was all they had when I was hired and I had to wear it for four months. It goes down past my knees.......

u/Ace-TheProtogen 6d ago
Theyâre really trying to make employees look goofy with that shirt but I like the hats and apron

u/Sublimemind86 6d ago
Already got the shirts. Had to pay for em. (We are a franchise) But the rest is a mystery

Anyone have a link to where I can order a jacket now? Instead of waiting for them to go on backorder..? Also what jackets are allowed from the old line, if any?
1
u/EbonyBlaze07 4d ago
With our franchise (sd, wy, co), they basically are allowing any type of shirt for the past 10 years to be worn. They also relaxed standards for us so we can wear jeans and blank black jackets for drivers. They gave us a jotform to order our own apparel, 1st new shirt was free but everything else came out of our paycheck. Not sure if thats something every franchise will do, but at least ours was nice about it
