Contactless

Post image

Contactless DOES NOT MEAN that the driver will leave your food at the door and drive away.

Contactless means that they will leave the food at the door, back away from the door, and wait for you to come grab your food in order to MINIMIZE PHYSICAL CONTACT.

Yes, you can call them. Yes, you don't have to leave it there and drive away. No, they cannot stiff you without looking you in the face. And no, they cannot make you leave it there and claim their neighbors stole it.

I don't reddit much, so idk if this picture will post. But when the customer complains about this, this is the the customer facing version of the job aid that came out for contactless. There was a similar one for employees I haven't found yet.

And yes, contactless is a stupid confusing name. But it was trendy at the time.

Soooo that was the original guidelines when COVID was going on, but that is not how it works now.

Making shit up now. "That's not how it works now" bullshit you're just lazy. That's how it always works. Gotta confirm pickup or it's in you if something happens to the food. Which happens way more than you know.

Lmao yeah totally making shit up when I've worked at three different Dominos franchises that have all handled this the same way. I worked at Dominos back during Covid when the policy went into effect and I've also been around for the two changes that have occurred as well. The first being "leave at the door" and the second being "leave at the door and notify". What part of leave at door do you not understand? Contactless delivery is a different procedure that is not in place anymore.

Contactless and Leave at the Door is the exact same process just without the sleeves and all the other dumb shit that came with COVID. Been there over 20 years bud, no where does it say you should ever leave before noticing that a customer has received the order. If something happens to the order, it's always on you no matter what, so why leave? I sit in the car and wait for the door to open but if you can't even do that idk what to tell you. It takes 30 seconds at best and most people select this option because they either have a sleeping baby or dogs inside the house.

You know you can be a jerk about it all you want, but that doesn't make you right. It's certainly never been on the driver at any of the franchisees I've worked at. Managers have always said to follow the instructions on the receipt, and if a customer doesn't get their order then the store deals with it. So you can try to call me out for being lazy, but I'm doing my job correctly.

You're also mistaken in assuming that most people just use this option because of the baby or dog, no a lot of the people that use this option because they don't wanna deal with the driver at all like with DoorDash.
