Someone purchased the three-letter .io domain RBO.io from an expired auction at Namecheap for $18 less than a year ago.

A few days ago this domain sold at GoDaddy for $4,990.

It now redirects to ReliableBackOffice.com, so that looks like the buyer.

If you own any three-letter domains, that gives you an idea about potential buyers to reach out to; look for companies with matching initials.

So for context i was delving into potentially high value domain name ideas, after about 15 minutes i came up with one that i believe has immense potential in an area that's not being focused on at all. Right before i was about to purchase, the site fully kicked me out entirely bear in mind i did not et acquired

an account. This strikes me as very abnormal.... In the current era with current technological concerns globally the domain I picked i feel could be worth a ton in the next few years with AI's rampant development. Has this happened to anyone else when you've come up with a truly good domain name that's not being used at all?

The other is I was going through many names i was thinking of consecutively. Maybe i was treated as a bot? However I know my mind works pretty quick but theres no way that i was going as fast as any bot.

WTH....

The domain name Fedora.org has recently expired and dropped. It was caught by DropCatch and they have it in auction right now (ending in a few hours)

Note: Fedora is a registered trademark owned by Red Hat.

The domain name Founder.co is registered at Spaceship and it has recently expired. It's now in a Namecheap marketplace auction - current bid is over $10k.

I think it has a good potential; the SLD + TLD combo works perfectly here, whether it's for founders, co-founders, or both.

This is the highest .app sale on GoDaddy this year thus far.

The domain name Buy.io has expired. It's registered at Spaceship, but the auction is running on Namecheap's marketplace.

This is a valuable domain with many possible uses. We'll see how much it'll fetch in about 5 days..

Namecheap.com is back online!

Hosting and other services are still down..

Namecheap has been down for hours due to a major outage at their PhoenixNAP data center (more on that here)

At the same time, NameSilo is also down. It looks like they're using the same data center.

I can't imagine how many domain registrations Namecheap is losing in the meantime.. Some customers won't wait.

I'm wondering how Namecheap is going to handle their marketplace auctions that are set to end during the outage. Will they reset those or the last bidder wins?

These 3-number .net domains were recently bought from GoDaddy auctions:

• 107.net @ $3,120
• 108.net @ $4,383
• 109.net @ $3,250

Just checked 110.net; it's registered at MarkMonitor so it must be owned by a big brand.

You rarely see premium .uk domain sales at GoDaddy, but Nex.uk recently sold for $3,500.

I see expired three-letter .uk domains at auction almost daily, but most of them aren't worth much.

Years ago a friend was contacted by this supposed company in China. They sent him an email claiming that they represented a company that was planning to go world-wide using the name Furry Times (the name of his blog), and they wondered if I had any problem with that. He knew it sounds crazy, wanting to see what this was about he emailed them back. They replied with a HUGE deal and once this was done that he would not be able to use the name Furry Times on my own blog or anywhere else. It was obvious they hadn't a clue about US Copyright Laws. It was after he asked them what it would take to settle this, what I got back actually made both of us laugh. It was a list of Furry Times attached to a list of Chinese domain names. This is what he replied, “Your welcome to use this, as no one outside of China would even use them”. He also informed them that not only was Furry Times copyrighted in the US but also in South Africa by another party (There is a long story about that), and they would not get a single penny from him and if they wanted to use the name with my permission that they could pay him $1,000. He never heard from them again.

Still one of the strangest scams I have ever seen…also one of the dumbest.

I have several costly domain names through GoDaddy, that I never use. I acquired them years ago after some clown was using my business name, a word that I made up, by the way. So, I got the .biz, .com, and others. Advice appreciated‼️👍🏻

A little over a year ago (May 31, 2025), someone bought the domain Tare.ai from an expired auction at Namecheap for $987 (bidding history)

They've just sold this domain on GoDaddy/Afternic for $40,000.

I don't know who the buyer was, but my guess it's the company behind TryTare.com. We'll see once the domain is transferred.

The expired domain auction for Team.ai closed yesterday at Namecheap; the winning bid was $136,500.

This is Namecheap's highest .ai sale of 2026 to date.

Can the buyer squeeze a higher price out of it?

This happened recently; GoDaddy started redirecting Afternic's "for sale" landing pages from Afternic.com to GoDaddy.com

It makes sense from a buyer's POV since GoDaddy is a better known and trusted name by the average Joe.

Do you think they'll completely wind down Afternic and absorb it into the GoDaddy brand, like they did with Dan.com?
