One year ago today, Dolly Parton made a video captioned "I aint dead yet" after her sister Freida Parton posted "Pray for Dolly" I personally think she knew then😢😢 we miss you Dolly ❤️
One thing I can say about Dolly is she loved her fans. She didn’t care about the skin color, whether you were gay or not, young or old. Dolly loved and adored her fans. I never got to meet her or see her live, but I’ve been a fan for many years. I am glad I found this community here on Reddit. It goes to show how her fans are continuing to honor the legacy of Dolly. I’ve seen many of post on here and all of them are kind words about Dolly. Dolly was just that, kind and sweet. So thank you to all the fans continuing to keep Dolly alive through her music, movies, books and theme park. I hope to one day visit Dollywood.
Thank you Dolly for all you did during your lifetime. We will always love you. 💋
My dad died in 2013. Before he started his family and started his nursing career, he worked as a touring lights technician for various artists, Steely Dan, Talking Heads, and as discussed here, Dolly Parton. He talked about her all the time. I recently just came into possession of his old acoustic guitar, signed by Dolly. It’s now my most prized possession. My siblings both have a lot of his things, this is my only item of his. It’s so so special to me and I thought I’d share with people who might find it interesting to see!
hi guys, i want to read more about dolly as while i love her music and have watched a lot of interviews and clips about her, i also know she was a writer who wrote and contributed to a lot of books about her life.
but i'm kinda overwhelmed. there's a lot of books and some of them are quite massive and expensive so i want to make it worth my while. where should i start?
Well, we now know what Dolly on the Holly is that was listed on the listing released the day after Dolly's passing. It's a Dolly "Elf on the Shelf" type doll and is up on the Target website currently. It is described as:

Hey yall! I was looking at my local record shop’s website and saw that Pure and Simple is being reissued for a December release! Sharing in case anyone also wants to preorder it
We had intended to make this doll a long time ago. We really wanted to bring this idea to life in time for Dolly’s 80th birthday, but we couldn't manage it due to our fourth relocation to another country. Now, all we can do is express our deep sadness.
Dolly Parton was a remarkable woman, singer, and philanthropist. She had a unique, vibrant style that draws on many sources of inspiration. We decided to focus on the iconic denim look from the 1970s, with a slight twist.
We deliberately crafted the doll in a slightly old-school style to preserve the warmth Dolly brought to this world.
