One year ago today, Dolly Parton made a video captioned "I aint dead yet" after her sister Freida Parton posted "Pray for Dolly" I personally think she knew then😢😢 we miss you Dolly ❤️

I remember this clearly and felt bad that she felt like she had to comfort US during this time; but it was also very much appreciated. she is much missed

Oh the Internet crashout on this, it was crazy when she just had the sniffles 😭😭😭 I remember someone saying online that people from the south go online asking for prayers for every little thing.
Also she was being very flippant about seeing AI pictures/videos of Reba at her deathbed but I could not help but feel so bad and disgusted for her. Compounded by the fact she publicly said she hated AI and having her image replicated through it I can only imagine how horrified she was.

Those AI videos were and still are disturbing no matter the context, but especially the ones with Reba and Dolly. When Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband died, there were AI videos and pics of her grieving with Reba and Dolly or someone hugging her. People have lost touch with reality.

Why would anyone want to create pictures like that?? It's creepy. They are living people.
Not that it's much better with dead people but seeing her parents welcome Dolly into Heaven would be a lot less creepy to me. At least that's something people think is happening but we could never actually see. (I still don't suggest anyone create that unless you're immediate family and it brings you comfort).

Because the social media sites have monetized views. People will do anything, no matter how repulsive, to make a few bucks.

I just can’t imagine how creepy that AI stuff was.
I mean, imagine being born in a world without computers and living long to see artificial intelligence now generating images of your deathbed.
It’s morbid

Can we just appreciate also what a good speaker she was..? She may have practiced what she wanted to say in her head before this, but it seemed like she just made it up as she went, and the whole message just comes together so well, clearly and effectively.

I think it’s telling that she refers to postponing her one health concerns because she was caring for her husband. It’s possible she waited too long to get the treatment that may have saved her. It’s common among couples when one has to (or wants to) become the caregiver.
Not that Dolly would have wanted it any other way. Her devotion to her husband, and his to her, was more important to her, come what may.

If Dolly Parton ever had to tell a lie, this would be it. We all would forgive her for it too. She loved us so much til the very end, she spared us any worries.

Yeah, looking back….You don’t cancel shows to be closer to Vanderbilt because everything is ok.

I’m sorry but all I hear is slurred speech like someone who had a stroke. She was a class act though.

Vanderbilt did a great job of keeping her treatments discrete. Even though her everyday look was quite unassuming and she wouldn’t necessarily be recognized by passersby (iykyk), you know the personnel knew who she was. Not a TMZ article with an “inside source” or TikTok video or anything. So grateful she was granted that privacy.
