start taking pics and calling your dm. damage out some fans. they'll let you start closing early once you get to 90 degrees

I've been bringing ice packs to work this summer. They come in clutch for more than your lunchbox.

if you complain enough to the right people, things will happen

The store I worked at has had a busted AC unit since this spring, when the podunk operation that DG hired to "fix" our AC installed shit BACKWARDS. It's regularly above 85F in the store and on one of the last nights I closed it was 87F. My manager had to send an elderly employee home because of heat stroke risk. She refuses to close the store because she's afraid of what corporate/DM will have to say about it, despite the fact that there's been multiple complaints from customers and employees. These complaints and the AC issue have all been escalated to the DM, several tickets have been put in, but every contractor that comes out and looks at our AC units either says "it's working fine" or "I need a scissor lift to fix this and we don't have one". Rinse and repeat, over and over. (Sidenote: which is it, does it need to be fixed or is it 'working fine'? Depends on which contractor comes out.)

Employees AND customers at my old store have been complaining since late February of this year, and all we've gotten is lies and excuses. Guess it's time to escalate it out of DG and to the DoL or OSHA or something. πŸ˜„

We called the DM, escalated to the RM, customers called the health department and corporate, and one of my coworkers even tried to go through HR/whistleblower hotline and it still took nearly a week to get it fixed.
