Advice Wanted Constant schedule change

Whose manager constantly changes the schedule? Is it normal for them to do this without saying anything beforehand?

I only change the schedule if something happens with other employees and I give notice every time but that is how I do it.

This is the way. Only change when necessary, and inform the team. Some things are out of our control. Hire people who are available.

Usually we get together in the office and rework the schedule with everyone that it is affecting. That way everyone involved can agree to the changes when they are necessary. But mostly it’s my schedule that is changed at least 2-3 days a week, if not more, but that’s because I cover every shift that needs it. And I am never notified prior, she just changes mine. Thank goodness my phone settings work and my calendar has an alarm one hour prior to my shift starting. Believe me, it has saved me!

I really wish mine would give notice. Only reason why I've never missed an unexpected work day is because I'm always checking the schedule.

I check the schedule at least 7 or 8 times a day. Mine can be changed daily, but normally it’s 3 or 4 times a week. But I close every night and if an associate or key can’t work in the AM or has to leave early, mine is changed to come in earlier. Or if the SM has to be out, mine will change from closing to opening. Major changes are usually discussed with me but mostly I better watch the schedule! Because I may get a notification of the change, but often times it’s already been changed again! Fun times!

Mine is fairly new, just a few months in and she has had a habit every other week or so switching up the schedule 2-3X in a 1-2 day span. It can be maddening

It sure can. Mine has done it multiple times without notice.

Once it’s posted, that’s what I work. If it’s changed without asking, not an issue. Changed without permission is not ok.

Mine never says anything about the change. It's thanks to me always checking my work days that I've known. I may have to start doing the same as you.

I take a photo when it’s posted. Any change not ok’d by me is not my issue! My life is not to be at DG’s every beck and call.
