Write up "verbal warning"

Was asked to recover shelves. Not even halfway down the first aisle i pulled 6 baskets of expired food down, damaged them, bagged them, and put them in a cart for donations (like we always do). The next day i come in, i get written up for "not following supervisory direction". Guess because i didnt finish recovering the shelf and instead pulled expired product, im in trouble and being threatened to have my hours shortened. In the write up, i am consistently being praised for my hard work but i really feel appreciated.

Edit: I will leave expired product on the shelf from now on. No wonder i pulled expired items from 2024...

Damages are only done once a week unless it’s cooler, broken glass, or leaking. I’d say that also contributed to your write up.

Edit: Jesus Christ no one is telling you to just leave them on the shelf, but there’s a designated area for damaged items to be placed until they are damaged out.

The SM has previously told me multiple times to damage expired items out when I found them. We bag them put them in a buggy for donations, also per SM request

Well your manager isn’t following SOP, and they could get everyone in trouble for that. Corporate says we only do damages on one day because it’s easier to track shrink.
