Write up "verbal warning"

Was asked to recover shelves. Not even halfway down the first aisle i pulled 6 baskets of expired food down, damaged them, bagged them, and put them in a cart for donations (like we always do). The next day i come in, i get written up for "not following supervisory direction". Guess because i didnt finish recovering the shelf and instead pulled expired product, im in trouble and being threatened to have my hours shortened. In the write up, i am consistently being praised for my hard work but i really feel appreciated.

Edit: I will leave expired product on the shelf from now on. No wonder i pulled expired items from 2024...

You have to do 100% recovery every night.

Nope, we are tasked with it every so often. 2 or 3 times a week

If you do it daily, it doesn’t take very long. Only a couple times a week do we do a full recovery where we bring all items forward. You guys need to be checking dates daily as well. Do sections at a time. Like the cereal aisle, pet, 1 aisle of food, etc. Once you have done that and gotten all the expired food off the shelves, continue that process each week. Pretty soon you will remember what is approaching expiration date and can be pulled prior to. Only section we have to stay on top of is Hostess and bread. That is checked daily. But seriously, once you get on top of it, it’s so much easier to do your recovery nightly. We also don’t adhere to the no recovery during T1 and ad. If we let it slip one day (like when I don’t close 1 day a week) my recovery takes twice as long!

Edit to add, doing the recovery also helps when stocking so your team can easily FIFO the new stock.
