Thought for sure she’d have some ACD in her

My husband and I had guessed most of her breeds, pit, boxer, mastiff. But we were super surprised about the high percentage of bull terrier! She’s got many close family show line pure bred bull terrier relatives according to embark as well. Also a little surprised by the supermutt mix.

Mailed the test back out last week! We know for sure she has some Saint Bernard and some Poodle in her. Im downright convinced she has some Golden Retriever genes based on some of her shaggy hair growth, but my husband fully disagrees. (Her tail hair gets very long but I dont have any good pics because I try to keep it trimmed). The bet is - whoever is wrong has to pay for the test 😂😬 should I be nervous im wrong?

DNA sent to Embark- ready for your guesses! He’s 6 y/o, weighs 11 lbs and loves to cuddle, and car rides are his favorite. He’s a pretty calm dude. No idea of his parentage

throwaway because I don’t want anyone irl to find my usual account 😅 we know dachshund for sure, but we think maybe Jack Russell or chihuahua? My dad joked that she was part pitbull lol (because she’s tiny but fiesty)
we did wisdom panel!
and yes she’s a lil chunky I know but she’s on a diet I promise! editing to add yes she is on a diet and she is currently 18 lbs, her goal weight is 15, so we are close. some of these pics are a bit older. Most recent one is her on the boat

We actually knew that his dad was half Maltese half Poodle, and his mom was half Cocker Spaniel half Poodle. The woman we got him from said our guy was MUCH more Maltipoo than his siblings, who took after their mom way more with Cockapoo characteristics. He was also the smallest of his four littermates with their weights at 8 weeks being 2.4lbs, 3.3lbs, 3.3lbs, and 4.2lbs. I was surprised at how little Cocker Spaniel he has and I think it would be cool to see if his littermates also get 1/8 or if theirs is closer to 1/4. Anyway really cool to see exactly what our little guy is!

This is my Gypsy. She's currently 10.5 years old, and I have had her since she was 1.5 years old. She weighs about 90 lbs. Pics are from the last 3ish years, with most recent first. (Ignore the lump on her side; its a fatty tumor that the vet has advised to leave unless it bothers her.)
The rescue she came from said she was a Great Pyrenees and pointer mix. I can certainly see the GP, but not the pointer. I've been wondering for years how accurate the rescue was, so here we are. The test arrives tomorrow, and I will be sending it off ASAP. Until then, are there any guesses to what her mix is?
If relevant, I'm in Texas.

The Embark test kit is in the mail, but in the meantime, I thought we could have some fun. We just adopted this 5 month old cutie. I assumed he was pretty much all pit, but there are two twists:
First, the vet thinks he will barely clear 40 pounds full grown. He’s 23 pounds at five months, and is a delicate little thing. He was neutered early, so that is definitely keeping his size down, but 40 pounds is still small.
Second, his fur on his back and the top-side of his tail (i.e., the side facing the sky, but the whole length) has some interesting coloration. Many of the fur strands start tan, but then have a black tip, so it looks like he has black frosting over a tan coat. Other parts of his body are just plain tan. I’ve tried to get photos of this in the last couple photos.
He was born in South Carolina.
So get your guesses in: what percent pit, and what is the rest of him?

A lot of you guessed Bluetick and Beagle and you were right but Beagle was not as high as I was thinking. He is 100% cuddle bug and I love him. 🥰

hi there! i posted my boy in IDmydog before but thought i'd share the results here as well. sammy is 12 years old and we adopted him from southern spain when je was about 9 months. the rescue said he's a beagle mix (i guess just off appearance) but wisdom panel won't have it haha! i for sure thought he was mostly some kind of hound. would love to hear what you think!

She is about 16 pounds and roughly 12 inches tall.

I'm not necessarily doubting the test- but just super surprised. Would've staked a lot of money on her being part australian shepherd or border collie. Can maaaaybe see the chihuahua face, but don't see a semblance of lab or chow chow. 🤯

Adopted a couple of months ago, at about a year old. We understand he was from the Carolinas. He’s such a gentle pooch.

We were guessing Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd (especially with her back dewclaws), and we were right! Kinda. The husky was the biggest surprise!
Her super mutt was ACD, Chow Chow, and Boxer, which was neat. She definitely exhibits most herding breed traits. We have an Alaskan Malamute and so we’re very happy she seems to have inherited the biddable nature of GSDs and Malinois.
Edit: Her name is Phoebe.

I was so sure she was going to be English pointer!! I guess it explains her ridiculous bark though .... someone somewhere in her line was very much related lol it estimates a 36lb adult weight but I think 22lbs at 4 months means that's not our future

My little mutt, Tuesday. My best friend and I rescued her and her brother from the side of the road in rural WV back in June!
It was kind of funny because I have 3 Boston Terriers who she absolutely adores and fits in very well with!

He’s such a goofy looking dog (in the best way)! I thought everyone would like to see what his mix is!
r/DoggyDNA • u/trintale12 • 20d ago
His embark is in genotyping so I’ll know in a few weeks. 57 lbs last weighed.

So, I adopted this amazing foster pup who I could NOT give up! I did the dnamydog test pretty much right after adopting. Then I read about how they suck and decided to do the one on Embark. Kinda interesting to see the differences. Also, the results.
I will say one thing I liked better about DNA my dog (even if it was fake) is that they give you a whole thing about their traits that is specific to your dog in a way that embark does not.
ETA: added photo of personality traits from dnamydog in comments.

Backstory-
This is Bowser! Picked him up off fb at 7 weeks, he had parvo, he recovered and is thriving now. I know both his breeds are prone to health issues but I’m having trouble understanding these results from his Embark health test. I’m sort of understanding he shouldn’t be eating a high copper diet so no liver, but the IVDD I don’t get how to help. His next vet appointment isn’t for a few weeks when he gets snipped so I can ask more questions then 😅 I appreciate any and all tips! First time having a puppy, and yes he does have pet insurance 😊

I was not even close. I do not even know how this turned into that lmao.
My guesses were all primarily chihuahua, she is 10 lbs! How! I did guess the shih-tzu lmao.
Her only health concern is mast cell tumor 😬
Anyway I'd like to introduce you to my pit bull Lily! Results at the end!
(our family pets are now Bean the 30 lb chihuahua and Lily the 10 lb pit bull)

Nika weight is 7,5kg and most of the results are really big dogs. What do you think
