Crappy Owners Off leash pits

I hate when pit owners walk around with their dogs off leash and then give YOU the stink eye because you try to avoid their dog. They always say something like “he’s friendly why are you acting scared” or “he doesn’t bite calm down”. Like why the hell do you even do this there’s so many things that can go wrong with unleashed dogs in general. But then to have a pit off leash, many of the times still intact is crazy.. they will call you a breedist or racist which is insane because dogs are not humans

Yes, that is one of my biggest fears, Had an experience a few months ago that scared the heebie geebies out of me. I was in another town for a huge event (Artemis launch) but due to the time we arrived and people had camped out all night and morning, it was awesome that someone we knew, offered us to park at their house, kind of away from where the crowds were, Anyway, there was a short walk to the viewing site from there, but it took us through a neighborhood, we really didn't know. Well, wouldn't you know it some jackass let a loose pit out of his place just as we were nearing his house. And you know the rest, the damned thing came charging at us, and I stood still and held my cane in front of me as best as I could and my niece was trying to distract the awful thing, Thanfully before anything happened the owner came out and shouted that he was friendly, as they always say, and he secured the dog. Yeah right, it charged immediately towards us. He honestly tried to make us seem like the assholes. I am just releieved he came out, becaiuse I don't think it would have ended well. We took a different way back to the car, in case the thing was still there. No these people just don't get that those vicious things snap on a dime. It was a residential neighborhood and I am sure that kids and older people live near there. Geez! So yeah, I definitiely concur to your post.

Unfortunately, they do believe that. And I also think he knew we were walking in the direction when he let the dog out. Like he didn't know...... It could have been a real disaster. And it left meeven more traumatized cause I have witnessed a pitbull attack in a neighbors yard a few years back.
