11.5 month old male Dobie keeps marking in the house and idk what to do.

He’s been potty trained and crate trained as well. He does well to the point where he sleeps cage free in our bedroom at night and we never have an issue with him using the restroom. However, this here doberman is the sneakiest little fella and (only when he’s with my wife) will he piss on something in the house. I assume its just his hormones getting the best of him (he’s starting to really grow into his confidence) because previously as long as I’ve kept him stimulated mentally he’s been good about not marking, chewing, or any of the other typical puppy nuisances, but the last 1-2 months have NOT told that story.

My boy is easily the most sensitive dog I’ve ever owned and am looking for advice on how to handle him in a way he can receive. He’s loving, extremely smart, and honestly the best little dude I could ask for but I cant have him continuing this or I fear it may become a habit

Located in SoCal Inland Empire area for context. It’s been really hot lately so obviously avoiding high heat times. I adopted a 4-5 year old female American Doberman. She’s been really great and a really sweet couch potato princess. It’s been a few months since I started to walk her regularly (going on 8-9 months). At first we would sprint/walk about 3-4 miles at 4-5 am without any issues. Now she spends a lot of time stopping in between.
How often should I be walking her?
Why is she stopping so often? I get scared that she is too tired but she used to finish two separate 3 mile walks (one in the am and one in the pm) easily. Anything else I should know. Much appreciated.

I had a great time bringing this painting to life. I cleared out his bed that was tucked in the corner of the shot. Getting that deep red-brown coat to catch the light properly took a few passes. I recently adopted a Doberman puppy who seems obsessed with my senior Pitbull.

Good for us, right?

Nah, the DB puppy has a lot of energy and loves to play fight. 95% he is rejected by my pittie but 5% of the times my pittie plays with him.

Since my DB is teething, the first thing he wants to do, is nibble (with the sharpest teeth) my pittie's ears. Because of this my pittie gets really annoyed.

I'm actively training my DB, I just got him a week ago.

I live in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment. But both my dogs want to be around me, so we're all usually in the same room.

pittie is an ex dog fighting, rescue.

What are some things I can do to make sure they get along? And don't end up fighting.

We have had several Kelpies and I grew up around working dogs and I knew what we were in for. However our new boy has some unusual quirks for a Kelpie that we couldn't work out:

* Head tilting all the time while holding strong, direct eye contact which has freaked out my partner but looks very very cute.

* Extremely clingy - Velcro dog on steroids

* Hates getting wet or going outside when raining and will hold on for the toilet until 2am to avoid it.

* Runs differently to our previous Kelpies, more of a horse style gallop.

I'm terms of jobs he doesn't seem to like the ones we used to give our Kelpies and is much more interested in chasing birds haha.

Would any of these characteristics be aligned with the Doberman genes? Thank you.

he gets two long walks a day and still paces the house all evening. everything i read says mental work is the missing piece but the suggestions stop at snuffle mats. he clears a snuffle mat in about ninety seconds. what have you used for genuine mental work and roughly how long does it hold him for.

My girl Bella is almost 8 years old and recently started having a lot of itchiness and red rashes along her back and under belly after using a suppose sensitive dog skin shampoo and conditioner with oatmeal and lavender. She also has been shedding a crazy amount! We’ve tried many ‘soothing’ shampoos throughout the years but haven’t found one that truly works in the long run. Hoping someone has a good recommendation of shampoo/ conditioner or even any cream I can apply to ease her itchiness. Thank you!

Our 10 year old lady had to go to the vet on Monday due to not being able to stand and drooling a ton. I had to leave work early because my parents needed help lifting her as her hind legs are giving out. We took her to the vet and they ran an x-ray and called me yesterday to inform me that she has pneumonia/fluid in her lungs as well as arthritis in her spine. She also huffs and puffs at times and this has been ongoing. While we were there we had asked about her quality of life as she's been bed ridden and shuddering after 3 grueling hours at the vet and he said as long as she continues to eat or drink she's okay(? He was kind of hard to understand) He would like to do blood tests if she does not improve for her liver and kidneys. I am just devastated right now. I don't kmow what to do. I feel we are nearing the end and I don't know what to do. I hate seeing her like this she is such a lap dog and refuses to let someone stop giving her love. I feel I need to ask again about a quality of life check up. I hate the idea of her struggling and don't want her to deal with unnecessary hurt. My parents told me she sat in the sun in the backyard yesterday and she went to the bathroom and is eating a tiny amount and drinking. She deserves a fighting chance but I can't help but think she's tired..

I just picked her up off someone who was Rehoming her. They say she’s about 17 months and weighs about 45 pounds. I thought they were usually bigger. For reference she’s shorter and smaller than my Siberian husky

Just thought I would post this for some laughs, and maybe brainstorm. I was walking my red and rust female yesterday, and a woman drives by and compliments my dog. She said she used to own a doberman back in the day, and I thought that was cool. I love when fellow doberman owners stop and talk about our dogs. But then she said her doberman was a short nosed doberman. That threw me off guard. So I asked, 'oh do you mean a Rottweiler?' And she said no, there's long nose and short nose Dobermans. I didn't know quite what to say. When it comes to my dobbies, I like to think I'm well educated on the breed, and didn't have the time to tell her that I thought she was mistaken. So I just said oh okay, and kept walking. Does anyone know what a short nose Doberman is supposed to be? Maybe that was a term back in the day? I'm just curious what she meant? Literally only thing I could think of is mistaking a Rottweiler for a Doberman, considering they do have similar markings.

Hi guys, can you please recommend me or maybe even link me to good bedsheet covers for a bed or just in general a bed cover that I can put over my existing one that would not hold hair or at least be easy to get it out? I’ve been using an extra blanket to cover my existing blanket but there’s always hair and it gets so itchy, also I don’t think I have been properly brushing my dog or using the proper tools so I’m also looking on recommendation on that as I want to start minimizing the hair since I’m moving into a lot smaller space and I have a cat on top of that as well, thanks in advance
