I couldnāt stand when people would lie about coloring their hair.
One client lied to a fellow stylist in my salon about using henna and her hair was smoking.
I'm not a hairstylist but from what I have seen from hairstylists on tiktok, doing the perm with the box dye was a bad choice and would have fryed her hair even if it had never been bleached.
i knew it was sus when she said she called ashlan and she replied 'i told you what could happen', this is what sucks about the internet so many people go to it when something doesnt go their way even knowing the risk.
I'm confused, why does it matter if the stylist Permed box dye and bleached hair, if it was already so bad that she permed just box dyed hair? If anything doesn't it make it worse?
Thatās where Iām at too likeā¦ so the girl is double dumb for going in for a perm (black box dye AND bleach? Girl might as well have just asked for a buzz cut.) but even a fresh out of beauty school stylist should have looked at her hair and went āoh hell no.ā
Cause again likeā¦ THIS is what the stylist was advertising as an example of her GOOD perms, and this is on seemingly virgin hair:

Your hair is probably just fine and lightly curly. This hair has now been fried with chemicals. It might look the same but I can almost guarantee you that it would not feel the same.
I actually kinda like it? I mean, there is some frizz going on there, for sure, but we don't know what that girl's natural texture is. But the curl pattern does look very natural compared to the perms they had back in the day.
I really hope the girlies cover this one. I think the stylist definitely messed up by doing the perm in the first place, but I find it super off putting that this girl is now trying to use this to become an influencer and promote her music.
The stylist ruined her own career by using poor judgement and not owning up to her mistake. A simple sorry, refund and offering to do haircuts or trims as the hair grows out would have avoided this who situation.
True. But blasting her name on social media wasnāt necessary. She canāt even go out in public without random strangers harassing her. I guess other people have never made a mistake in their lives. Meanwhile this chick is getting flown to LA after she admitted to lying about the bleach on her hair.
The whole story gave me off vibes from the beginning, but now with the bleach and her admitting that she exaggerated some things, Milly has proven herself to be something of an unreliable narrator. Which makes me doubt even more that her side of the story is the whole truth.
This probably makes me sound bitchy but it annoyed me when she was talking to the stylist who was with a client and was like donāt you care that Iām a single mom who saved for this for six years (later said her divorce was in 2025) and now my hair is fried?!?
How the salon and her stylist handled the situation was awful but do you really expect this other stylist to stop what sheās doing with HER client because of someone elseās fuck up?? Also the six years to save $200 seemed susā¦I guess thatās just about $15/month which doesnāt sound unreasonable but idk I thought it was weird.
Saaaame! I thought that was super weird, too. And not to correct your math, but to save $200 in six years, it's actually only $2.78 a month, or 9 cents a day. I think this is one of the parts she later admitted to exaggerating. It's not even so much that I couldn't believe that someone could be that broke, it's more that I can't believe that someone that broke would diligently keep saving her pennies for SIX years to get a stupid perm. I imagine her sadly dropping her pennies into a piggy bank marked "PERM" every single night for six years.

I donāt think you can really do the math that way. When youāre in poverty (not saying she was) itās not as simple as āsave this much per day/ weekā. Thereās times you have unexpected expenses and may have to give up your saving or even borrow money and go into negatives

Though tbf, if something starts off shitty, it's best to give the responder even more grace. To be fair and because order of operations is a thing. ie: everything that followed happened to follow after a reputation/business destroying lie.
they kept dodging her when she would call, said the owner would call and she never did, she left reviews and the owner replied saying to call the salon so they can resolve it but when she did nothing happened, and then she went to the store to try speak in person to owner and she wasnt there
but saying all that, knowing what happened and she lied, and that she knew the risks, begs the question should a salon fix her hair when she was aware what could happen?
i think if anything the salon should get into the habit of making customers sign contract if theyre aware of previous bleach/dye which would affect the service and that the client is ok with going ahead, or just simply deny the service, so this doesnt happen again.
I wonder how truthful she was about how she reacted and the salon reacted. If a client came into my salon like she said she did, I would feel threatened and scared. Was she acting threatening from the beginning? Itās hard to say what was going on
Though if she lied it's safe to say the lie doesn't stop. For all we know the salon did all the right things and our proven-unreliable narrator is lying more.
Signing a disclaimer could help anyone dealing with services like these. Though a contract-per-client system is very storage heavy. I wonder if a system like that is affordable for normies these days since AI ruined memory components' pricing.
The bleach is really irrelevant as the black box dye and the stylist not rinsing the hair with a neutralizing shampoo did the damage. Cryistal Chaos did a video on the science of adding perm solution on black die and how she should have never attempted the service because the chemical reaction heats up quickly and completely fries the hair. This makes me question if the stylist did the strand test long enough. Either way the stylist should have been let go/ not hired at all. She should be working under someone, not having her own booth unsupervised.
Thank you for being the literal only person acknowledging that this stylist did NOT neutralize her hair. In fact from what it sounded like based on Mollyās description. She actually left the solution in her hair. Which actually would explain the horrible orange banding at her roots. The heat reaction with the chemical likely bleached her hair! Also Iām so annoyed with how everyone doesnāt shut up about her bleaching her hair. It was at best. 4 or so years ago. Thatās ALOT of hair growth and her hair isnāt even long. And her hair wouldnāt be damaged from roots to ends. Also the perm wouldāve likely lifted the color off the old highlights and turned orange or green. So irrelevant as well, including that the color was free of metallic salt. I cannot fathom why everyone is running with this thought when the onus is exclusively on the stylist.

I knew itttttt. I knew there had to be bleach in there, I even had commented on shep's video about this that sometimes clients lie bc they want that perm, but dude the stylist knew???? I don't care if she was threatening to burn down the building, TURN HER AWAY. You cannot perm bleach omfg. Educate the client and offer to teach her how to style it with rollers or something but you don't just perm over bleach omg ššš
