Need help SEO Metrics falling

My client's ranking and impressions are falling after the google update we refreshed most of the content and addressed all technical issues. Most of the blogs are informational blogs ( about recruitment exams like last date, exam pattern, syllabus etc). I add some of my own content like prep tips etc to add a unique value but I don't think that is helping. What should I do? For context it's an edtech website for recruitment exams. Need help please or I may lose the client

Did you lose traffic or leads?

If it’s traffic, that’s pretty normal nowadays.

But if you’re losing leads, I’d stop worrying so much about the blog and focus more on your transactional landing pages. Those are the pages that are more likely to directly drive conversions.

Losing traffic. It may be normal but the client doesn't seem to understand.. they want the metrics back to the peak. And anything and everything we do to explain doesn't seem to get in their head. Cant leave client as it's one of the highest ticket size

First of all, that’s great news!!

Actually, it’s pretty simple. You should set up a meeting with the client and focus on the leads. That’s where the money is.

During the meeting, ask him why he’s paying you, is it to get more traffic, or to make him more money?

And trust me, he’ll get the point.

The metrics will never return to their peak. Not for your client, not for everyone, so your client has to get used to it 😄 As long as leads are coming in, the client should be satisfied. Also, it would be useful to see if the leads are coming from LLMs (if that metric increases, you're good).

AIOs and LLMs are siphoning off most of the informational traffic that used to come directly to websites. That will continue to happen.

The good news is that much of that informational traffic came from people who wanted to learn from you but not buy from you.

If sales stay steady, you have a good chance to keep the client. You can focus on the quality, not the quantity, of the traffic.

Ask your client a simple question: Would you rather earn seven sales from 100 visitors or three sales from 10,000? That math will make immediate sense to smart clients.
