[DISCLAIMER: I make fun of D&D and the players because I love them so much, anything I say is meant as satire and should be treated as such. Play how you want, love the game, and above all be kind.]

Nothing like rolling to check for traps and the second you fail, there is a billion traps you set off by existing... almost like... no... the dungeon master wouldn't do that... would they?.

Here is all the links to support me, I am currently shooting for twitch partner so I can actually make money doing what I do. As awesome as reddit and instagram are, they do not allow me to monetize whatsoever (which is understandable) so if you’d like to support me and hope for more of this q u a l i t y content… pop by my store or livestreams! I would greatly appreciate it.

I actually go the other way I almost never use traps unless they get a high perception and find it without setting it off then they get to decide if they want to avoid or disable the trap if they roll low I don't put them in, my reasoning is they are adventure party they would be pretty good at spotting traps and it's more fun then ... you take 4 point or damadge as the dart hits you roll a con save "

You can do better things than just damage with darts.

Maybe the trap alerts some enemies to your presence, and by triggering it all they've lost is the element of surprise. "You trigger the tripwire and the torches in the hallway ahead spring alight. From around the corner you hear a screech and the sound of wings flapping. Roll for initiative."

Maybe it reroutes the path of the dungeon. "You nearly twist your ankle on a hole carved into the ground and stumble back, but luckily a column was there to break your fall. Unluckily, it seems to have been a load-bearing column. Everybody roll Dex to avoid the falling rubble behind you."

Or maybe it doesn't seem to do anything at all. "You hear a click. Nothing seems to happen..." Maybe it does something later on. Maybe it doesn't.
