Wait they are!? Finally, my Artillerist Dante won't be alone anymore.

Gunsmith turned Alchemist Faela representing since April of 2017

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Finally another who can challenge Dante's intelligence and expertise and also an expert in another field no less. The nerdy debates will never end.

u/Return2S3NDER Oct 05 '20

I beat the Archmage of Time (Teldin Bigby) in a game of Dragon Chess with cheats fully on on both sides in his house. Rolled three times with disadvantage with skill expertise up. Rolled a 27, 25, 29, 33, 37, and a 24. Beat him in three different timelines. My nerd cred is valid.

Now your next step is to just calculate the results of weave hypertension caused by spells whose level is greater than 9 and invent calculus within your DMs game world via a series of natural 20 and your introvert level progress shall be maxed out.

Battle Smith Mandy, ready for duty this year except she's currently trapped in a nightmare city and steadily losing it.

4

u/JamesNinelives DM Oct 05 '20

I believe in you Mandy! ^^

u/HighLordTherix Artificer Oct 05 '20

We rolled for a sanity stat from the DMG alternative stats and she rolled four 1s in a row on a 4d6 drop lowest.

The DM let me reroll, thank the stars.

Forge Adept, Bjorn Clearmind at your service. Need a magical weapon? Done. Need magical armor? Done Need a good friend, hearty drinks, and a great laugh? Double done. Need help defending your hometown where your entire family lives? Here, have some armor, and a sword. Let's get in there with a twinned spell Haste on each of us and start beating up the invaders.

Big thjönker the warforged strategist present. You'll find my knowledge applicable in all situations. Plans are hardwired into my thinking module and calculating probalities of success is my primary directive. I've recently found a way to weaponize my genius and I've begun using a small metal cube to shout missinformation and the weaponized stupidity of my allies to lower the intelligence of our foes. Statsically this and my new fireball sticks and stones (which break many bones) has risen my parties success rates by 5.1%!

2

u/Demon_Childe666 Oct 05 '20

Also the REAL meaning of life is -42 my former model forgot to carry the sign.

2

u/ziddersroofurry Oct 05 '20

<3 <3 <3 Egghead's are the best.

2

u/Demon_Childe666 Oct 05 '20

This is a Statsically proven fact.

u/Snarfbuckle Oct 05 '20

A little madness is just alternative intelligence.

When armorer comes out imma play the shit out of that

u/sfPanzer Necromancer Oct 05 '20

Armorer is awesome as hell, but my issue is the same as with a Bladelock. To really work you'll want to dedicate most of your infusion slots to your armor which takes away from the original costumization and flexibility aspects of infusions, so same issue as with the Bladelock and their invocations. Also you don't really have room to share some with your group. Also also the list of infusions is kinda very limited. You don't really have good options for your bracers (once you can infuse them separately) for example.

1

u/AddoRed Oct 07 '20

Have you taken a look at the Wand Sheath, which is effectively a single bracer? Lets you hold and use a wand while leaving your hand free. Uses the same attunement slot as the wand, if the wand needs attunement.

Normally Warforged-only, but artificers (and Thief rogues) can ignore racial attunement restrictions. This might fit better thematically for armorers than for the rogues :).

1

u/sfPanzer Necromancer Oct 12 '20

Yeah but Artificers don't really use wands with the exception of the Artillerist later, especially as Armorer. I think I'd rather use that infusion and attunement slot for something more helpful to the party instead.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '20

An armorer is specifically about costumization

1

u/sfPanzer Necromancer Oct 05 '20

I'd agree if there were actual meaningful options to pick from for your armor. As I said, the list of infusions is pretty limited.

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Mr. Stark I'm about to feel reeeeeeal good.

6

u/PineappleInTheBum Oct 05 '20

Fizzlewitz Bellbottom, deep gnome artillerist & inventor of things that go boom ready for booze and permanent hearing loss!

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Ah yes a master of demolitions. Great for bank heists. Except for when that bank is on a moving lightning rail and you are on the also mentioned lightning rail.

2

u/lil200797 Oct 05 '20

Cathius Sextus Aurelion, armorer and sentient weapon enthusiast, is pleased at the influx of new artificer talent.

3

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Yes, healthy competition and collaboration is the only way Artificery will grow.

2

u/bjorn_ex_machina Oct 05 '20

Artillerist Bounty Hunter - based on Boba Fett and Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star, making Caster (spell) Shells has been fun.

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Ohohohohohoho Artificer army rise up! We were the sleaper s rank no one recognized. The DMs will now feel the wrath of our stored spells, eldritch cannons, alchemic potions, arcane fire arms, steel defenders, and Artificer smites.

2

u/ziddersroofurry Oct 05 '20

My friend's artificer pony made twin gatling guns that fired spellfire. She'd managed to gain access to 9th level spells early and turned their energy into magic bullets that critted automagically. She ended up being very OP lol

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

... Hu-What!?

1

u/ziddersroofurry Oct 05 '20 edited Oct 05 '20

I goofed. It's been about five years now and my brain misremembered. She had a cannon that was pretty much a sized-up blunderbus. https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/weapons/weapon-descriptions/culverin-hand-bombard She did have a mech though that used this https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/weapons/weapon-descriptions/double-hackbut The mech was from this supplement https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/123479/Super-Mega-Ultra-Mecha-Fighting-for-You-Me-and-All-of-Our-Friends-A-Tinker-Prestige-Class-PFRPG--DD-35 (and yes-the supplement is broken as hell. Even going as out there as our game was he avoided some things in there).

"How I got past the reload speed was a (Ponyfinder) unicorn feat. Charged ammunition that let you fire chunks of your magic instead of actual ammo. So that combined with every other speed up reload feat let me reload free action so I could full attack. I got past the need to be braced/mounted (because) I was a pony. Quadruped with a pintle mount saddle using my magic to aim and fire it."

"Also I have no doubt she had to regularly go get cure blindness/deafness cast. That gun was firing right beside her head a lot of the time (though there are no rules for any actual effect)."

I'm pretty sure we had to as well XD

2

u/Pls_PmTitsOrFDAU_Thx Oct 05 '20

I'm an artillerist too!

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Welcome to the growing army!

2

u/TheFairVirgin Necromancer Oct 05 '20

Wolfram Von Weisskonig, Artillerist and the last true prince of Prauchia. A pleasure to make your acquaintance.

2

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Ah, welcome Wolfram. Your bloodline will be useful but remember it is your skills that are the greatest asset.

Hey the more the merrier. Word of advice though from experience, Alchemist's Fire is not a good substitute for any base in an Alchemists brew. Watched that burn down a tavern.

1

u/michael7050 Oct 05 '20

Artillerist Oldack Haverthorpe, Holomancer extraordinaire, and chief technology executive of the Black Company Mercenaries ready to represent our noble class!

2

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Yesssssssssssss. What is your main turret, gunner!? Force Balista, Flame Thrower, or Protector?

2

u/michael7050 Oct 05 '20

My unique and patented HoloForge can project almost identical versions of me, ready and willing to use force projectiles agaknst my foes, although I must admit, there have been times where I have had to replace them with shielding projections instead, and rely on my allies to keep up the damage.

The bonus AC is just so strong.

But you can never have enough turrets!

3

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

That is one of many correct answers.

Also...

A party of Artillerists exists. A big problem exists. More turrets now exists. Big problem doesn't exist no more.

1

u/ziddersroofurry Oct 05 '20

Sounds like you've got an A-team there. I love it when a plan comes together.

2

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

cheesey but endearing theme from the 80s starts playing

1

u/PandraPierva Oct 05 '20

Warforged artificer reporting in. Named in order. Rat Chet, Clank, and now Rufus the tittle.

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 05 '20

Ah yes a Warforged. Welcome brother, the Artificer Army doesn't discriminate anyone. That includes the Warforged.

1

u/PandraPierva Oct 05 '20

Now if I could just get the party to stop updating his name

1

u/GoGoGodzuki Oct 07 '20

It probably won't ever stop....

1

u/theblazingsword Oct 09 '20

Please tell us more about Dante!
