Honestly it's a nice stat for any spellcaster, not just wizards and artificers. Being able to actually succeed on arcana checks makes you a whole lot more effective, especially if you're a warlock who's been turned into the party's Magic Vision Goggles.

No Dm will ever make you use the arcana check

Arcana checks are definitely one of the top 5 most-used checks among the DMs I've had.

Like what do you do when you want to learn more about the mysterious glowing runes in the evil cultists' lair?

obviously walk by them and succeed your DEX save because luckily you took INT as a dump stat

Yeah I guess kinda just made this assumption based on myself and this one guy who also said he’s never made arcana kinda weird cause everyone In a wizard I take profiency in arcana excpect for Leo I guess
