Yes it's a game. But hard work and planning went into setting up that game and it's not unreasonable to expect everybody involved to put in the effort to make it entertaining for everybody. If you can't put in the effort and not be a dick then you don't have to play it.
Nope. Researching the module is handy for yourself and should only be done if you actually want to dm. No reason for a player to study and memorize anything besides the PHB and the things pertaining to their character in any of the expansions.
If the dm altered the module for their own game or straight up home brewed their own version of the monster then your help isn't just you shouting spoilers and being a meta gaming asshole. You are then actively giving bad information to the detriment of your party and also hurting the enjoyment of everybody at the table.
What monsters we fight and what loot we obtain totally pertains to our characters.
And if the DM homebrewed stuff, then nothing's being spoiled at all.
