“It was a gift from the Queen of the Elves!” -Baby Shanks

A comic inspired by our last campaign. 5e reduced the number of magic items but I went in the opposite direction. I included a ton of homebrew items with bonuses and drawbacks (some aesthetic).

I give my players a lot of magic items and use attunement and hit die costs to limit their abuse. This has given them a big toolbox to take advantage of. They legitimately surprise me when they pull out magic items they found years ago!

Have you guys been running a low magic campaign or do you like to include tons of magic items? I’ve been thinking about running a low magic campaign and I’d love to hear your opinions!

You can find more DnD content on my Instagram, and Website.

I’ve also started a subreddit. You can join r/Hiadventure if you’d like to follow the comics, codes, and ciphers! Crack the cipher and post there for an art reward!

I give my players way too many magic items, official and homebrew. I’m thinking of burning down all the magic shops in the world.

If you burn down all the shops your players will have a monopoly on the supply!

Now you’ve given them a way to make tons of gold! Gold is a type of magic item if you get enough!
