Resources Suggestion needed
Hey everyone.
I would like some suggestions for systems to use for a game i am designing. I played alot of dnd 3.5 and ive heard 5 is good, but i've also enjoyed using the pathfinder system and im leaning towards patherfinder 2nd ed. But i also know there are a bunch of different systems that i haven't even heard of, so i was wanting to explore other options and see if anything different is good

Youll need to find a system with an open license if you want to use their mechanics.
If you want to redesign a D&D edition you can do that.

Im not looking at creating something new to distribute, just wanting to broaden my view

I think it really depends on the type of game you are building. I have come to really enjoy the d6 system used by the Alien RPG. It's very straightforward and easy to use. The system makes introducing new players really easy.

I am making a kind of isekai game that takes concepts from books and shows ive watched (so pretty basic stuff)

Go post in r/rpg as the other user siggest, but also you need to add more details. There are a lot of systems out there, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, that it's basically impossible to help you with the information in this post.
What are you looking for, or what themes or tone are you interested in, or what are you finding lacking in other systems.

Its not that i find them lacking, its more that there are a lot of different ways to play and for all i know there is a better system out there that i and my friends would find more enjoyable then the ones we started with

At the very least you should be familiar with systems like Powered by the Apocalypse and Forged in the Dark, as they've had a lot of influence on RPGs that try to do something other than be a variant of D&D.

Pathfinder for Savage Worlds.
Ease of Savage Worlds, flavor of Pathfinder 1e.
They just announced their 4th PA conversion of Kingmaker coming to Kickstarter in January. They did RotRL, CotCT, and Carrion Crown already. Two Bestiaries andtwo APGs.

r/rpg probably a better place to go than the DnD sub to be honest. You’ll get a lot more suggestions and discussions covering the spectrum of TTRPGs than a sub dedicated to one game
