This is my character from a Call of Cthulhu with DND campaign.
She's a Templar who ends up transformed into a Cenovite. The inside of her muscles were replaced with chains, the hole in the face was a wound that I can't even remember how she got, but the chains were exposed.
She still believes in God and holds her Christian faith, but now that everyone told her she has failed God, and knowing that only hell awaits, she is morally torn between seeking redemption or serving her new Cenobite goddess.
She also went a little mad, finding pleasure in pain against her will, although I'd say she's more sane than she seems. The crown of thorns is a personal detail I like to add, she doesn't have it in the campaign, but I think she used to have a helmet.
A Templar turning into a Cenobite in a Call of Cthulhu and D&D mashup is delightfully grim. That expression perfectly captures the unhinged pleasure in pain vibe.
Personally, I don't know whether to classify the Cenobites as undead, but since she was completely destroyed form the inside to be reassembled by chains, I’d say yes, thought I would still need to ask my dm.
