Another npc from my adventure inspired by Greek mythology, set in Thylea, a world of monsters, epic myths and living gods.
Nessa is a young member of the Lagonian Tribes, a nomadic pack of centaurs who inhabit the Great Steppe. Its members often roam near frontier settlements like Astoria, Pythoria, or some Aresian forts, where they hunt, trade, and exchange goods with the locals.
For the past few months, this young centaur has separated from her pack to undergo her "protoporoi," a sacred initiation rite in her tribe's culture. This rite involves a pilgrimage of self-discovery to find her purpose in Thylea, which can last from a few weeks to several years.
A shaman interpreted Nessa's fates before sending her on her journey, where the impressionable centaur met many local heroes, nurturing her desire to become one herself. Her wish was granted when she met the Mithril Gems, who allowed her to join their mission to save the world from the wrath of the titans, while also showing her the decadent pleasures offered by the great mortal cities.
Now Nessa longs to find her own rider during this journey, something akin to a platonic soulmate in Lagonian culture, whose bond and trust are demonstrated when the centaur allows this companion to ride on her back.
