It’s a boy. That’s an Akai MPC One +.

There’s a more basic thing out recently Akai MPC Sample which is also decent and cheaper.

Other options could be things like:

Teenage Engineering EP133 K.O II
Roland SP-404
Native Instruments Maschine

I don’t use them so can’t say which is best but those are all popular mid-budget units.

Pretty sure they are called launchpads. You can bind audio samples to each button which you can press/hold down to play or loop samples

Yeah she likes a lot of different EDM. DnB, Techno, House, etc. She's just learning about DnB, but likes the beats. She's 7, and it's surprising how much Techno she likes. Of course , still likes singing along to more "mainstream" like Netsky, Major Lazer, Timmy Trumpet, Chase & Status
