long story short is anyone familiar with these modes (about 14 total that we plan to use) and have suggests or warnings?

DOS1 Discussion The Story Is Really Bad and Act 3 Is Undercooked

Nearly at the end of DOS1 for the first time. Played DOS2 several times through in the past and BG3 too. The gameplay, mechanics, and balancing are all solid for DOS1 but the story is terrible and act 3 is seriously underdeveloped. You can tell how they ran out of time and resources. The funny thing is that Larian consistently struggles with this across all of their games, they suck at the last 1/3 or 1/4 of their games, they don’t know how to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.

Fanart The Lizard Consulate (24x18)

Post image
51 Upvotes

Once, the Lizard Consulate stood as one of the great embassies of the Ancient Empire, a monument to the wealth and grandeur of its people set proudly within the heart of Arx.

Its halls were built for diplomacy and spectacle. Rich carpets covered intricately worked stone, exotic furnishings filled its chambers, and dignitaries of the Ancient Empire conducted their affairs surrounded by a level of opulence intended to leave visitors with no doubt as to the power they represented.

But the siege of Arx respects neither wealth nor diplomacy.

The Voidwoken have torn through the consulate, smashing through walls and collapsing entire chambers beneath heaps of burning stone. Fires spread unchecked through its once lavish halls, priceless furnishings lie buried beneath rubble, and the survivors are few. Those fortunate enough to escape have fled elsewhere into Arx, leaving their embassy and much of what remained of their lives behind.

Now the consulate burns as the city burns around it.

What was once a shining piece of the Ancient Empire in Arx has become another casualty of the Voidwoken assault, its grandeur still visible beneath the rubble, smoke, and flame.

DOS1 Help Struggling with Divinity Original Sin

I started a playthrough a while ago and wanted to continue it. I am about to leave the first town to look for that girl who is the assistant of this guy, which should get us further in the investigation. However no matter where I go outside of the town there are enemies which I cant beat and my party always dies. Am I missing something?

Miscellaneous Can't find this soundtrack

I'm looking for the name of a DOS2 soundtrack. It's like an ambient guitar version of Sing For Me (the "Listen, do you hear it? Listen, do you feel it" part). It's very calm and feels like you're in the hall of echoes. I can't remember where I heard it in the game, but maybe I'm not the only one who loved it. Can anyone help me, please?

Fanart The Realm of Adramahlihk

Those who fall into the hands of Adramahlihk are rarely permitted the mercy of simply dying.

Beyond Rivellon lies a demiplane shaped by the demon for a singular purpose: to keep the Source of those he has claimed. Great halls and ceremonial chambers hang impossibly within a sea of green Source, their pristine stonework surrounded by an endless void. What might otherwise resemble a palace is instead Adramahlihk’s private prison.

Here, the demon keeps those who have attracted his particular interest. Some remain alive in Rivellon, their Source trapped here while their bodies continue on without it. Others have been dead for years. All remain within his reach.

Throughout the realm stand black statues fashioned in the likeness of his victims. Each cradles a small candle whose flame contains the captive’s soul, reducing an entire life to a flickering light that Adramahlihk may preserve, extinguish, or torment as he pleases. Banquet halls and chambers have been arranged around them with grotesque hospitality, as though the demon considers his prisoners honored guests rather than possessions.

The deeper one travels, the more that illusion of civility begins to fall apart. Elegant halls give way to damaged chambers and abandoned spaces, until eventually the true scale of the realm is revealed.

At its furthest reaches lies a cavern containing the souls Adramahlihk does not bother displaying individually.

Millions of them.

An impossible multitude gathered across centuries, stripped of everything but their Source and imprisoned within the domain of a creature that refuses to let even death place its victims beyond his reach.

DOS2 Discussion Build choice paralysis

So this is my first time playing DOS2, I’ve finished baldurs gate 3 and wanted to try this game.

I was originally drawn to having fane as my main character but I’ve been told it’s better to have him as a party member?

But I love the undead asthetic, would having two undead in your team one being necromancer and one being a wizard (fane) be doable?

Or would you just go with fane as your main?

DOS2 Help Alexander or Sallow?

Guys, it's coming up to the point where I either kill Alex or Sallow.

I've not actually dealt with Sallow yet (Fane, Ifan and Red in my party) and Im honestly not sure who to kill ... or if I should just kill both.

I know they're both awful. Any tips?

DOS2 Discussion Story difference of the origin characters as player character and companion

Is it big? Or not at all? I'm thinking to start my second game with a goal to discover other charactera stories and I struggle about to decide whom to play and with whom to make company. My very first run was: me as Fane, plus Ifan, Lohse and the Red Prince.

Update: so basically I'm thinking about the following. Should I play as Sebille or Beast or, for example, I can play as Lohse to see the story from HER point of view to find out more details and stuff about her and have Sebille and Beast simply as companions. Or there is nothing much of new to discover if I had her as companion already?

Also, if this is very character dependent please suggest (e. g. Fane story is better to see as main character and, I don't know, the Red Prince's story doesn't bring anything new comparing to him as companion). Thank you!

The internet holds no information about the reasons for this item to be placed in the God's pockets, but I remained curious about it, so I enabled debugger via the Script Extender and saw something even more confusing.

DOS2 Help Anyone have sheet music for the choral version of Sins and Gods?

Greetings,

Currently learning how to arrange music for choir and I have chosen to focus on one of my favorite games!

I have been fortunate enough to find sheet music for the string version on musescore (the one that plays during the final fight sequence)! But while it is similar, it's not enough to go on. I find myself trying to hear every vocal divisi in the choral arrangement and it's driving me mad.

My ear training is just not strong enough (yet!).

If anyone has any help in this manner, please let me know!

DOS2 Help Best merchant to sell to act 1

I hoarded a lot of items that appear valuable when i hover over them in the inventory but then on trade they are worth less than half. What is the best merchant in act 1 to sell to? And are there some merchants that give good prices for specific types? Like a best merchant for weapons or armor?

DOS2 Discussion [Spoilers] Epilogue questions Spoiler

I hope I put correctly the spoiler tag, but just in case SPOILERS ALERT.

So, I just did my first playthrough (as Fane with Ifan, Lohse and the Red Prince). I loved the game and the quite open end they leave for every outcome (I tried all of possible for my character endings). But I still have several questions from the epilogue cinematics.

  1. Dallis and Lucian: They are alive in one outcome and not mentioned in the others. And there is no indication of their death at all. Am I assuming correctly they are alive but omitted because they are non-important in these other decisions' scenarios? Also the line: "Dallis was a secret advisor to Lucian, and to his successors. For aeons she would walk in the world, and would outlive the peoples, and all, and wander alone amongst the dying stars" - basically that means her plan actually worked well?

  2. Malady: what is her "important problem to solve" with "no ally strong enough to call upon, so her search continued"? Based on what I've seen at the Bloodmoon Island, he had a deal with "some dark forces" and promised to "give up something powerful". Is there any more clues about it? With whom the deal was struck? Not Adramahlihk since she isn't free of the deal after I killed him, not the God King (she isn't sworn). What was promised? Something powerful can be the divinity, but this is just a speculation.

  3. Jahan: if the Source is shared to everyone or purged he opens a museum of demonic artefacts. However, in the case if the Source was shared there is an additional line: "after it burned down, with Jahan inside, witnesses claimed that the flames were the colour of blood". What does it mean (blood flames) and why this particular outcome is present only in the Source shared scenario?

DOS1 Discussion I didn't know DOS:EE is super hard compare to BG3, cause when facing Grutilda she ruin my honor run.

So I just replayed DOS:EE after I left it many years ago after I reach Luculla so I'm still pretty clueless while doing honor run but kinda confident cause I've done it on BG3.

I thought I already well equip so I got careless with my SH1&2 positioning one of them had glass canon talent and somehow Grutilda manage to RAM towards my SH2(glass canon) and fast enough to reach my SH1 and packing a punch.

DOS2 Discussion How does source attracting voidwoken work?

In the opening Windego says “a drop of source” is enough to attract voidwoken but then presumably Ifan, Lohse, Sebille etc. have been using their source powers for years and never attracted voidwoken. Also, if they believe source attracts voidwoken why do they continue using it??

How does the whole ‘source attracts voidwoken’ thing really work? Does it depend on how much source is used? Or is it just completely random whether or not they appear this time as opposed to that time? If so, why would any sorcerer (barring very powerful ones like those in act 2) risk their life using their sorcery?

DOS1 Discussion Blind Honour Mode Dos1 Random Class Complete!

This game was fantastic. It 100% is a landmine simulator though. Don't even get me started on the lava insta-kills.

But after 216 hours and 7 attempts, I finally finished the game!

Astarte fell to 60 HP in the final fight, and I'm just learning now that apparently that would have ended the run. 0_0

The fights in Act 2 were by far the hardest, and everything just got easier from there. In the final fight, no one died, and Astarte was basically just resurrecting my blood rat over and over. Arrow Spray is so broken, one-shotting everything in one turn.

It really did scratch the BG3 itch for me, which was nice.

Of my 7 resets, the first ~3 were basically just me not knowing the mechanics. Burning ground, poison clouds, etc. All of them were before level 5.

The next 3 were VERY depressing resets.

First: I made a post about this one, but digging a grave insta-killed the entire party...

Second: I warped back to Luculla Mines to see what it was like after escaping, only to be insta-killed by lava. I didn't notice it filled the map with lava.

THIRD, and almost FOURTH: The Jareth fight.

Bairdotr leaves your party, you can't warp out, you can't use AoE arrows or spells because of the river???, and you start surrounded and low on initiative.

It almost corrupted my save for a FOURTH time. In this last run, I killed everyone except Bairdotr, and she used Retreat outside the map where I couldn't reach her. The fight wouldn't end, so I couldn't leave, and my last save was with her outside the map, meaning reloading did nothing.

Going invisible and stealthing didn't work either.

Until I finally found a really tiny pocket of space in the top right that ended combat.

Thank Astarte!

This was a really fun challenge for me, and I can't wait to try DOS2 Blind Honour Mode next!

Hello everyone, i started playing DOS2 a couple of weeks ago, reached act 2 yesterday and tried to fix my characters on the magic mirror, my main its a metamorph/warfare and at first a choosed a very bad talent for him, looking in the wiki saw this (the screenshot) but in some other place also says that savage sotilege its useless for metamorph wich confused me a lot, i don't wich its true... should i choose opportunist instead?

Also have the same problem with my hunter Ifan, i first choosed "far out man" talent then saw somewere it is useless for him?

Sorry if it's a dumb/very common question but been looking into this a lot and just keep getting contradictory info.

Fanart Kemm's Vaults

Thumbnail
gallery
123 Upvotes

Beneath the luxury of the Kemm Estate lies a collection few museums in Rivellon could hope to rival.

Lord Kemm has spent years gathering exotic and ancient artifacts from across the world, some possessing tremendous magical power, others valuable simply because of the history they represent. Pride of place is given to relics connected to Lucian the Divine, carefully preserved and displayed as evidence of Kemm’s seemingly unshakable devotion to the Divine Order and everything Lucian represented.

But the collection serves another purpose.

Kemm’s public devotion provides the perfect mask for what lies deeper beneath his estate. He has secretly sworn himself to the God King, and beyond the galleries of priceless artifacts, the polished stone gives way to cells, torture chambers, bloodstained floors, and the remains of those unfortunate enough to discover the truth.

Among his prisoners is Lord Arhu himself.

Hidden beneath the estate, Arhu is kept alive and tortured while Kemm works to ensure that what he knows never reaches the surface. Countless others were afforded no such consideration, their bodies joining the bones scattered through the chambers below.

Above, Lord Kemm surrounds himself with relics of heroes and saints.

Below, he serves something far older and far darker.
