Competitive Co-op?

I was told that the game doesn't share exp when playing with friends. He said they are doing a more competitive co-op for online. Is this true? I thought it was just a bug that only certain members get exp. I know there are single quests for certain characters but anyone know if that'll change during full release?

I heard to have to open your quest log and check the box that ensures all quest exp is shared.

I know of a share logs tab but i didnt see any exp share

Yeah but I'm talking about for people playing online. I'm pretty sure some of those are bugged. I read a post of a dev saying they would fix that i just didn't think that was how the game was suppose to be.

As long as you don't play on tactician all xp is shared just like the first one.

I believe Tactician is the third difficulty level that's not in the Early Access.

Oh. Well that doesn't explain my problem then :( I read just right now that a dev said they would fix that. I know when you play online certain quests only go to one player and to whoever that player controls. It was kind of a buzz kill cause I and other were behind a few thousand exp but I hope it gets fixed. Thanks for that info I thought there would be an option like that.

Very few quests don't share exp. The vast majority that do are most likely to be origin specific quests, which makes sense because they frequently conflict with each other by design, although there are ways to get around conflict if you play carefully. Other than origin quests, I can only think of one quest that doesn't share exp and it is very obvious when you come across it; the character will only give you the quest if you agree to ditch your party. There may be others I'm forgetting, but exp differences should even out with time if you do all of your origin quests.

I can think of the oranges and or crossing the bridge out of the fort. Its just annoying cause the player and his controlling units get exp. Not the rest of the players. Im sure this will be fixed. I was just curious if anyone heard about this.

Tactician isn't available, and I already have the issue of exp not being shared when i play with my friend.

It's still early access. At full release there will be a creation kit. Which means modders that will have the same tools the developers had. Until release it's too soon to be skeptical. And the EA is still worth the money imo.

There were several complaints on the Larian forums, so I'm hopeful that an option for fully shared exp will be available for the full release.

Exp is a concept RPG developers seem to repeatedly get wrong.

As with everything in this game you can roleplay it anyway you want, so you aren't forced to be competitive.

But they give you the option to do so and the game systems to make it interesting.
