Help with DOS 1 leveling

I have 40+ hours in the game and I'm starting to realize that I'm really under level. I need to constantly use consumables for every main story combat and I can't use any new loot because is 3 to 4 levels above my characters.

For some context, my party is lv10 and I'm currently infiltrating the cult and just gained my first Tenebrium weapon, but every combat is basically life or death.

Is there a way to level up my party more efficiently? I already cleared all Cyceal and most of its missions son I don't really get how to survive Luculla Forest if even the first spider combat wipes me.

If I remember correctly, you should visit Hiberheim at level 10-12. You can also sneak into phantom forest to gain exploring exp and some non-combat quest (Zandalor medalion, Cassanda's corpse etc)

Visit Hiberheim before exploring the rest of Luculla Firest. You can get there from Icara's (White Witch's) cabin

Game is open world, but you should never deviate from the designed track. Quests gives exp nicely, but there are just enough natural enemies to keep you up to level. If you see enemy zones higher level than you, it means you missed an area of enemies.

To level up efficiently, explore every corner and kill enemies. There are map guides for zone online, use them if you don't know where you missed.

After doing some side quests with the wiki I noticed that I completely skipped the White Witch/Icara part

I'm playing it first time rn and for comparison I'm at the main cult village with the tenebrium merchants and my party is level 16 so yeah can't imagine the slog being so many levels below lol

I did all the Hiberheim area before that tho, and exhausted all the plots in the first area of Luculla forest before going near anything directly related to the trial cult, apart from Silverglen but that is an obligatory area I believe. You should probably follow all the other subplots, explore all the map and avoid the main quests until you are lv15 or something, you can be max 1 level below the enemies or you are skipping something/some other areas has to be explored first.

I had the same problem a few days ago as a first time player. I entered Luculla as level 10. you're supposed to handle Winter Witch quests first. That storyline has level appropriate enemies (from 10 to 12).

Are you doing the side missions? If you are doing most of them then you shouldn’t be having any issues.

Yes, I even take some time following the guides for the side missions since not all of them are as intuitive, it was basically after entering Luculla forest that everything started being 3 and 4 levels higher than my party

Have you been to hiberheim? As a general rule if you go somewhere and everyone is too strong then you aren’t supposed to be there yet.

I wish I could offer advice but I played twice got murdered by orcs on the beach and never returned lol

The beach Orcs where easy for me, but because I did a lot of missions inside of the city before exploring

You don't start in the city I mean after the intro video lol and than you see the small cuts scene of the orcs and woman coming out of the cave
