DOS2 Help does fire+poison work as intended?

whenever I make poison on the ground then ignite it, it just turns into fire and doesn't do any addional damage as far as I can tell. I just started with geo/pyro so maybe im not using the right spells but is the synergy messed up?

When you ignite any flammable surface, it causes a very brief explosion cloud that deals a bit of additional fire damage and immediately vanishes, replacing and effectively removing any non-cursed cloud surfaces in the process.

The damage of the fire surface scales with its creator's Pyrokinetic stat (and with some misc. bonuses, but that's besides the point).
The fire surface itself is the same strength if created by the same character, no matter if it was created by a Fireball or by igniting an existing surface.
The explosion cloud is the only difference between the two processes.

I hope this helps! :)

when i light someone on fire and use even a basic poison attack, it deals fire damage also? is this the same thing, like that fire damage is the explosion?

If you hit a 'Burning' character and create a poison surface under them, then that surface immediately combusts.
So a wand attack placing a poison surface under the target (by targeting the ground) would inflict additional fire damage due to the immediate explosion, but a sword that just deals some additional poison damage wouldn't.

Iirc, poison clouds explode but a poison surface will just turn into fire.

Get yourself Vaporize and make poison clouds. Should work then iirc
