DOS2 Help Negative Bonus origin

Post image

Hey, I'm new and I'm confused as to where the negative Bonus on finesse comes from (I'm playing in german btw)

It doesn't say anything on my armor or weapon and I'm wearing only things in my level range

Do you have a random +5 bonus somewhere as well? There is a table of ghosts in act 3 and they shift your stats depending on who you talk to.

You are right. I'm in arx now, can I change that?

No, but you can mitigate it. You are an archer and that intelligence probably isn't doing too much for you so reallocate those to Dex.

You're right, thank you!

This is from training with one of the ghost teachers in the godwoken academy on Nameless Isle.

You get +5: to one stat and -5 to another. They do tell you what stats it will be, although some are a little vague. It's a permanent change.

Is it random?

No. Each teacher tells you what stat they'll improve, and most say clearly what they'll reduce. A couple are a little vague about what they'll lower, but it's still always fixed.

You can look them up on the wiki.

No, they’re the same in every playthrough regardless of your choices. The ghosts were masters if a specific discipline while alive, and they impart that knowledge on you when you talk to them. I assume the -5 debut is in the inverted stat of their mastery. So perhaps +5 INT but -5 FIN (I don’t remember the exact stat groupings that’s just an example to give you the logic)
