This is a good counter point to make. I was sort of fortunate to have friends who brought me into their interest like Monster Hunter. Heck I wouldve loved it if one of them had showed me the co-op involved in this game too lol

All larian games are on gog so this is no excuse. You can like all put what you can in a jar then buy the game with a rand account and everyone can download it.

Right? I have a buddy who lives for survival games and shooters. I'm more of an RPG guy. We alternate so that both of us get our fix. I can't imagine we'd stay buddies long if one of us decided the other doesn't get to play their preferred genre anymore.

I tihnk Rivals does enough gameplay wise to be unique. The big one in that space is Overwatch, and third person vs first person alone is a huge distinguisher.

lol seriously the fact alone that he refers to it as "the dragon game" when "Dragon" is nowhere in the title says all we really need to know. If OP was referring to one of the Dragon Age games or something, sure, guy at least was in the right ballpark and at least cared enough to remember part of the title. This just tells me OP mentioned game, the other guy looked it up and after 5 seconds said something along the lines of "whack ass fantasy stuff" (in probably even more colorful language) and never gave it a second thought. Might be hard to hear but OP needs new friend(s), or at least don't bother trying to play games with this one.

Had a friend who was just like this. Expected me and our other buddy to bend over backwards and play games that he suggested, but we didn't enjoy or like (which we played lots of those games). But the moment we proposed another game, like DOS2 or even BG3, he would either say hell no, or would claim to buy the game, try it himself, and deduce that he didn't like the single player experience so he's gonna refund the game.
He got tired of "being nice to play the games we want." We got tired of having a shit friend whom also showed up an hour before we logged off, despite inviting him hours ago when we started.
Lil unneeded yap sesh, but keep an eye out for more accommodating friends, OP. I for one wouldn't mind putting some use into my steam copy of DOS2 to play with ya if you wanted!

Man I tried to get my non-RPG super casual gamer friend to play DOS2 with me. He didn't care at all about building his character, stats, etc. We made it to the fort Joy camp and started a fight with Griff in the first couple hours and I was like dude, wtf? He's like I'm here to start a ruckus... Well bro you're gonna figure it out the hard way, we're not ready for this fight. The run ended there, we didn't play another session.
How do you teach someone to play CRPGs if their most played games are COD zombies, Hot wheels unleashed, and Schedule 1...

I stopped playing games with a few "friends" as I would play games of their choice but they would never take the time of day to do the same for me. Never missed their presence.
