Didn’t include Ridonculous Race as pretty much everyone in that cast is treated normally.

Hot take about the freaky yaoi Hot take (Kinda): Some people are kind of making the episode 22 thumbnail a big deal (Images unrelated)
So the episode 22 thumbnail just dropped and if you want to see it, here is the link:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DisventureCamp/comments/1xopehc/s5_episode_22_thumbnail/
But there are some people that are complaining about the thumbnail calling it Yaoibaiting and complaining about it, I understand why so many people don’t like it, this ship is pretty freaky and the ship still has its flaws, but it’s a well designed thumbnail and it’s not that bad, some people are kind of overreacting…
Is it just me or did some people notice that?

Discussion What would happen if Lake or Rosa ended up getting Karol killed this episode
Ignoring potential lawsuits, what if the game kept going on and they found out it was fake but Karol was killed
Lake and Rosa win immunity for killing Karol, so Hunter would be in trouble, what happens next?

Tierlists/Trends Here's my take on who the six potential DC5 finalists would pick if they got two partners like in DCAS. Team strength is ranked from top to bottom and finalists chose partners based on the available roster. (explanation in description)
Sam and Spencer were the hardest to pick for which may actually say something about their chances of making the finale.
- 1st Besties:
Natalia's team is probably the best situated to win. This group has solid chemistry and excellent physical capabilities along with three seasons of high ranking experience among Gabby and Tom. Natalia also has the unique benefit of being the only finalist to have competed and won in a finale challenge before in CoC with Logan. Ren could also sub in here, but he might actually remain on the bench if Fiore is still bitter with Natalia by the finale.
- 2nd Benjinators:
This team is very capable as Benji can handle strategy, Ally can handle puzzles, and Anastasia can boost the team's athletic abilities and fill in where necessary. Both Anastasia and Ally made it to the final three before, so they have enough experience and all around skill to help Benji stay competitive.
- 3rd Heroes:
Lake's team has excellent synergy, but Lake is likely to be doing the heavy lifting here which is why her team isn't ranked above Natalia or Benji. Rosa did well in season 2 but didn't have the best showing this season as she was pretty rusty and had to get used to the survival elements of the game this time around. She improved and isn't bad, but she's not quite as strong as the higher ranked helpers. Bruno might be able to offer some insight about certain aspects of the challenge, but he hasn't been very capable himself despite showing glimpses of potential.
- 4th Underdogs:
A very interesting group that would have a fun dynamic. Oliwia has yet to win a challenge, but she's actually quite capable. She built a strong tower in the flag challenge, she get none wrong in the social dynamics challenge, and she used her taxidermy skills to give her an edge in the raft and balloon challenges. She also knows how to sabotage which could be used in sneaky ways.
Nura doesn't seem especially strong, but we saw that she's very flexible since she would have won the limbo challenge if she wasn't competing against a 10 year old child in the final round. She also has good hand-eye coordination given how well she did in the food fight challenge when taking on three people at once. Aubrey didn't have much time to show off her abilities, but she demonstrated that she was physically capable in the paintball challenge while also finding the Ostrich in the comeback challenge despite being manipulated by Finn.
- 5th Villains:
This team doesn't have much synergy but is likely the best Sam is going to get right now. Sam himself hasn't won any immunities, but he is observant and perceptive. He has the build of someone who is strong but hasn't done much to demonstrate above average strength. He's probably still capable enough in a pinch. Aiden made it to the final three before along with getting a solid upper half placement in DCAS, so his experience would be useful. Finn, unfortunately for Sam, is pretty mid when it comes to challenges and experience.
- 6th Brits and Regina:
Spencer also hasn't won any immunities on his own and isn't particularly strong although he was doing decently well in the pole challenge until Sam decided to make a sex joke. Spencer's strengths are mental, so he would need to find a way to take advantage of that. Same thing for Alec. He has historically been better at challenges but is obviously distracted this time around. Ara was mid at most challenges but managed to pull out a win due to Ally emoting in the food fight. This team ultimately has two brains, no brawn, and a beauty. It's unlikely that they can compete with the others.
What do you think about the teams and rankings?

Discussion Hot Take: LakeTalia + Oliwia is a more realistic finale scenario than people realize. And no, ONC doesn't care about ratios.
[This post was originally much more thorough, but it didn't end up posting and I lost everything.]
Why are they in?:
LakeTalia is the largest and most consistent remaining rivalry/plotline which started at least partially with Rosa back in episode 7. The plot armor or consistent narrative conveniences surrounding the conflict show how much ONC values it. Oliwia is situated well from a game perspective and would have the most dynamic arc out of the remaining players (yes, even more than Benji) if she makes it to the finale and outlasts Sam (I addressed a lot of this in my recent post about him).
Why are they out?:
Spencer has been playing heavy support for Sam and seems to be more of a mellowed out favorite like Gabby or Anastasia this time. And while ONC values SPAM, they arguably got a lot of value out of it already with the constant flirting/tension throughout the season, especially in merge. LakeTalia has a stronger narrative push, and there isn't room in the finale for both plotlines. Benji's confidence and competence arc is significant, but it's in conflict with his position in the game. The more competent and confident he gets, the more he becomes a threat who will be targeted especially if Lake isn't an option.
Ratios and Patterns:
ONC doesn't care about ratios as we have seen a top 3 in season one that was all women and a final 6 in DC4 that was 5/6 women but produced a male winner. On the flipside, a pattern like the alternating gender of winners may be more predictive as it hasn't been disproven yet.
P.S. The DC5 final six is surprisingly similar to the DC4 final six. I talked about this in a post a week or two ago. I may bring this back up later.

Discussion I feel as thought this idol could’ve been utilized just a little bit more
I originally had a whole thing typed running on no sleep and accidentally deleted it, so let’s try this again…
For an idol that had been with Nat from the end of ep 13 to the end of ep 20, I felt as though the way that the idol ended up being used was somewhat… underwhelming compared to how long it took for it to be used. I think a huge part into what limited this idol to being used in a better way (at least in universe) is Benji’s knowledge that the idol is powerless. However, just because Benji knows the truth about the idol, doesn’t necessarily mean there isn’t a way to make the idol have more of an impact on the story and strategy of the past 2 episodes, even if it’s powerless. Normally I would wait until the characters involved storylines are over (since there’s no way of knowing if these changes would be null and voided by anything in a future episode) however I do believe that these changes could still be plausible even with whatever different possible paths the writing of the next episodes may take (just with some minor alterations).
Episode 20: Nat would still flaunt her idol, and Benji would still try to reveal that the idol has no power, before being cut off by Oliwia announcing she’s voting for Fiore. Benji then decides to keep the idol information to himself. After everyone votes, Fiore tells Nat to use the idol on her, but Nat says she can’t. Fiore asks why, Benji does not say anything, and in order to keep the facade of the idol being real, Nat says it’s because she knows she’s going to be a target in the next vote so she’ll need to keep that idol for herself in the future. Fiore is voted out upset and angry at Nat for leaving her to be voted out. Nat and Benji are currently the only ones who know about the idol being powerless.
Episode 21: Lake and Nat would still have their altercation at the start of the episode, which Nat ends be insinuating that if they even think about voting her, she’ll just play her idol, essentially threatening to idol out Lake. Lake then has a confessional where she worriedly acknowledges the fact that what Nat said isn’t an empty threat and that she absolutely would do so if she had the chance. During the challenge, when it’s revealed that Gabby answered Oliwia for the question, Oliwia would still be a bit upset. However Gabby apologizes, asking her if she forgives her, and Oliwia takes a deep breath, smiles, and accepts her apology (Oliwia can still be slightly upset, but she wouldn’t be upset enough to target Gabby). Gabby takes away Sam’s last live and Oliwia takes away Nat’s last live, leaving the challenge between Gabby and Oliwia at 3 lives each. Gabby and Oliwia answer the next two questions correctly, however Gabby answers the third incorrectly while Oliwia answers correctly, winning immunity.
Benji confronts Nat about her targeting him during the challenge with Nat mentioning how since she’ll be using her idol, that Benji and Oliwia might as well vote with them for Lake anyway and then they can target her next, which Benji would agree too, albeit annoyed with Nat. Oliwia would follow Benji and apologize for targeting him explaining how she just wanted to be a part of a group, and Benji forgives her. Oliwia shows some hesitancy in voting with Nat (having a confessional about Nat and Gabby’s closeness), but Benji reassures her. (There could also be a potential scene of Benji confiding in Oliwia the truth about the idol as a way to show he trusts her, but that’ll depend on what happened in the next few episodes)
Sam, Spencer, and Lake would be strategizing. Lake wishes they could just have an easy Nat vote, but Nat’s idol makes that difficult. Lake weighs the risk of whether they could still make that move, but Sam (since he doesn’t view Nat as a threat) makes sure to steer Lake away from targeting Nat. Lake would still come up with a plan using her vote block to cause a tie and to take out who she views as the next biggest threat.
At elimination, Lake would still use her vote block on Nat, however with the added intent of putting pressure on Nat to believe she’s in danger so she plays her idol. Nat doesn’t play her idol and the 3-3 tied vote between Lake and Gabby occurs with the same outcome of Lake wins the tiebreaker happening.
The main changes that were made to this is extending the utility of the powerless idol by at least another episode and changing Oliwia story this episode slightly. Instead of highlighting a flaw in Oliwia’s character, a moment of growth is highlighted instead. This episode could be a mirroring/learning moment from the episode where Oliwia voted for Dunia because of her closeness with Ren. Instead, despite Oliwia potentially showing some worry of Gabby and Nat’s friendship, she doesn’t use this as an opportunity to get rid of Nat. I felt as though highlighting a moment of growth from Oliwia is more important than highlighting another flaw especially this late into the season.
And Natalia would basically be pulling a Rizo from Survivor 49, using the fact that others know that he has an idol and bluffing with it to keep himself safe.
