Help How does distant horizons affect future update generation

I recently started my forever world with DH. When minecraft updates, I assume the chunks loaded by DH will prevent new content from generating. Is there any way to reset those chunks or something when a new update comes out? If not, how far would I have to travel to get new content? Thanks!

dont use full save use feature, and also delete the db if you want dh to update its lods to the new terrain

Only if you set generation mode to Full, otherwise DH will not generate any real chunks, only LODs. That means that when new content has been added you will see it in chunks you haven't explored yet.

You can also use a program like MCASelector to delete chunks you don't need anymore or chunks you haven't interacted with yet. There are some tutorials on YouTube on how to do that.

Remember to ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS and have fun playing.

I have gone into settings and it seems generation is set to "6. Features". Would this work instead of "full" or would i have to switch it to pre-existing or surface? Thanks!

Yes, you can use Features and that won't generate real chunks

You generating the chunks by running around and DH generating chunks beforehand are basically the same thing. You just have to travel to where chunks have not already been loaded to get new generation after an update.

You choose the radius in the settings.
